    Was it a stirling account? Or maybe a Euro account?

    (or is HSBC now offering Lira accounts in anticipation......).

    That might explain different rates.

    And you can't even get 2.5% instant access at HSBC, I ought to know as a customer lol.

    I just had my 8% reg saver mature xmas day, and know I can only get 6% from my new one. OH still has an 8% one, opened the last day possible ie Aug 31.

    I think it's a rubbish paper too for the most part, but I do love the way that it gets up you lefties' noses to the point of obsession.
