Bio Washing Powder doubles up as an effective way to clean the oven (and the saucepan I burnt yesterday when all the water from the parsnip had disappeared and I was in the Garden...)
Old bottles (wine etc.) turn into beautiful Candlesticks once the wax has started dripping down them.Three years, six months, three weeks, 13 hours, 48 minutes and 30 seconds. 26011 cigarettes not smoked, saving $11,704.80. Life saved: 12 weeks, 6 days, 7 hours, 35 minutes.0 -
If you have been persuaded by your dentist to buy a Sonicare toothbrush don't throw the old heads away. As it is an ultrasonic brush these make great jewelry/difficult to get to small things/round the bottom of taps etc. cleaners, nothing required except water. Great for emeralds & fiddly jewelry. They also have powerful magnets in the base & make for interesting fridge magnets!0

Use baby wipes as face cleansers, much cheaper than the branded varieties.
Also, bit gross but fab, use haemmoroid cream on your face - sounds awful but honestly, it is like having a mini face lift, put it under your eyes for instant bag removal, on your jawline to lift a sagging chin. Try it - it works!0 -
A dab of any perfume on a cold sore at the tingly stage gets rid of it brilliantly without having to resort to expensive creams.Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0

Use a clean empty ice cream tub as a first aid box. Write "FIRST AID" and put on a large "+" with a permenant marker. Better than the store bought ones that just are not big enough to take all the creams, plasters etc needed with a family.
Save plastic take away containers wash and fill with fresh reduced foods and freeze. The cartons stack well and use the space better meaning you do not need a larger freezer! I also use these cartons to freeze left overs so I can have a ready meal and to freeze foods ready for the cool box before going camping. The best bargains are priceless!!!!!!!!!! :T :T :T0 -
Those old net curtains - another use is to make a bag which you can put all the socks in before putting in the washing machine. Make sure it is big enough to tie up before washing - no more lost socks! JanieD0

Left Over drops of Wine (never in my house I must say) can be frozen down in icecubes trays and added to casseroles, lasagnes and so on when a small amount wine is needed. Saves opening a bottle to cook with (which only has to be drunk to stop it going to waste................)
On another tack, use spring clothespegs to seal cereal packs, frozen veg packs, all sorts of bags when a wire tag is just not strong enough. Not exactly money saving but useful JanieD0 -
When the toothbrush head on my electric toothbrush needs replacing, I keep it to clean round those difficult to reach parts on the sink (just make sure you keep it seperate from the one yopu use to clean your teeth!!!)0
