What are these like to use compared to the Loreal foam mouse? I use the Loreal ones and find them really easy and not messy (and the colour is good). However, I once bought the Clairol mouse one and it was horrendous as it didn't come out of the pump thing well, it ruined my shower curtain (I've been dyeing my hair for nearly 20 years and do not make a mess) and the mid brown colour made me look like a goth. Plus it made my scalp all black and splodgy and I was devastated with the results. I'm wary of trying another foam/ mouse dye after the Clairol disaster.0

Probably obvious but how do you manage to do this. TIAtotallybored wrote: »Plus it made my scalp all black and splodgy and I was devastated with the results. I'm wary of trying another foam/ mouse dye after the Clairol disaster.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

One of the best tips I was ever given is to use an old toothbrush! This was from a hairdresser and it really works! - in fact the comment was that she would go bankrupt if she used the amount contained in a dye-kit. So I use about 1/4 of the contents of a pack to touch up every 6-8 weeks or so. Not sure this is going to be possible with a foam though, might have to set a date with my mum and sister (luckily the same natural hair shade) to have a girly dye-athon. x6
One of the benefits of the toothbrush method that the Count Dracula look can be avoided!
Do you just mix up a bit at a time? I'm getting a small amount of grey and I'd like to just dye a bit at a time but all the boxes I looked at indicated that you had to mix all at one time - I wasn't brave enough to try!
Do you mind saying which dyes you have used like this?
Currently I'm plucking out grey hairs but I'm going to have to get to grips with it but I've never dyed my hair (aged 43!).Piglet

No, havent been yet, but I must give it a go.
I found the moouse very easy to use and it came out of the pump easily too. As I said be wary of the borwn as even the lightest shade came out very dark. (in my opinion)Debt free since July 2013! Woo hoo! The bank actually laughed when I said I have come in to cancel my overdraft.0 -

I agree - I got some of their 10min dyes on offer recently and found them hopeless. The colour seemed to wash out very quickly.
The foam colours I've found to be good are both John Frieda and Nice n Easy - I think the foam is much easier to apply. I think I'd rather wait till those brands are on offer.0 -
I bought these last time they were on offer-found the pump terrible to use, colour has faded really quickly and dried my hair out. John frieda all the way for me from now on, not wasting any more money on trying cheaper alternative when this is clearly the best!!0

Don't get into the habit of plucking your white hairs out - you could be bald by the time you're 70!Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!
