Boots 75% Sale

Just been to the Boots in Wolverhampton town centre (Dudley Street, the pedestrianised area). As you go in from the Dudley Street entrance there are some half-empty shelves on the left-hand side with some Sanctuary, Fearne, Soap and Glory etc, but not very much. However, if you go to the other end of the store (the doors that lead into the Mander Centre), there are shelves and shelves and shelves of Xmas stuff, and it's all piled high!

Still shed loads left in my local so looking good for Wednesday!

Another store in the retail park didn't have quite so much left and they'd condensed it down & the sun preps & bikini's were getting put out so that's a good sign for Wednesday.

I heard on the tanoy in my local store that Wednesday will have an over 60's event with promotions and a bonus 500 points for a £30 spend - I think it said between 10 & 2 but can't be sure.

It seems a strange time to have it on 75% day but I suppose all the 75%ers will have done their thing by 10am.
(Don't think this is all stores btw)

Sorry to re-start the will it/won't it thing again, but doesn't this suggest that it won't be on 15th? Would they really do any extra event in the middle of the 75% scrum?

It did set the alarm bells ringing with me too when I heard it but as I said; the shop is likely to be cleared before the time they advertised it as and I don't think it's all stores anyway.

Also as it's only over 60's (those in the over 60's advantage card club) I don't think it would drag that many extra people in specifically for the event. I don't think it's been mailed out to people as my Mum's over 60 & in the 'club' and she didn't have an invite when she recently received her advantage card coupons so I wouldn't expect the additional footfall to be huge like when they do the Christmas points events.

I'm still pretty certain it will happen this Wednesday, the fact that a lot of the big high street stores finish their sales this week & Boots are starting to set up their summer displays means that they will want all this stock cleared sharpish!!

So, do we think the 15th or the 22nd???? I have the Neurologist on the 15th but may cancel to go to the Boots Sale. Bad, I know.

I'd be very surprised if they left it as late as the 22nd, I'm almost certain it will be this wednesday.

There's been lots of extra stock arriving in the larger stores these last couple of weeks and like I said earlier, a lot of high street retailers finish their sales this week as they are all looking to get new season stock in place.

The fact that Boots are setting up their summer displays is a strong indictor it will be this week.

Christmas stock is quite bulky & takes up a lot of space, they won't want it hanging around in their stores for much longer particularly when nobody's buying it - it's dead space and dead money to have it lingering.
Far more important to get the store looking nice & fresh!

no, they keep to normal store opening hours - I have 2 local to me which open at 8, and 2 which open at 9.

Has anyone tried the boots sale online? If so what time does it start? I've done the sale in my local branch the last two years and loved getting a bargain but this year I'm working so won't be able to get there. Was thinking of staying up late/getting up early to chance the online. Any tips?

The online sale usually launches around 2-3am, a site unavailable message will be displayed some time before that.
