Just back from Maidenhead store (popped in about 9am - bit later than planned), busy but lots of people grabbing stuff, sorting through it at the end of aisles and then leaving bits. S&G big sets left (minus 1 that I treated myself to!) Some small 75% off signs in the doors (which say items half marked price underneath, think someone didn't proof read those properly lol!)

Anyone heading to Bluewater or Westfield Straford please update as to rough stock level or products. Thanks

Am back from my shopping trip. bad planning on my part, means we have a kitchen designer coming later, so I couldn't go to the one in the next city like I'd planned. I checked town centre stock over a week ago and there was barely anything and the smaller one in the town centre had nothing, so I went to my nearest retail park. No-one about when I first walked in a few mins after shop opened, they were all down the aisles, of which they were 3 with 75% off stock. Couldn't get the lemon squeezer with jug that had an eye on for my m-i-l and I'd dismissed as too expensive at 50% off, amazed they'd all gone. Got various bits, Sanctuary handcream & handwash (th last one!)shampoo, lip, eyeshadow, bodyspray, purse sets. All will serve as stocking fillers for my daughter, sis-il-law and neices for Xmas '13. Came to £19.75, so just under £80 worth of stuff and paid with points, that I'd accummulated on buying things from Boots that I needed to get anyway, so no cash needed. :T:D
  • Just went into my local Boots store, there are no 75% off signs in the window but all the Christmas gift sets are reduced by 75%. I went in at about 9.30 after they had been open an hour and the shelves were virtually cleared. Still managed to get £200 worth of stuff for £50, that's a few birthday and Christmas presents sorted already!

It was a madhouse this morning at the shop in my town, pushing and barging to get at the bargains first when the doors opened.
They were all standing chatting pleasantly enough before the doors opened but after that there was bedlam in Boots.

I waited outside for 10 minutes to let the dust settle then nipped in to get some indegestion tabs and quickly got out of there, no place for a man in that shop at the best of times but it was like a war zone today.
  • Tried shopping online at 7.15am.. forget it tried to put one item in my basket and the site crashed so managed to get down to my nearest store at a retail park with my 8 month old baby in tow and grab a few bargains :j-
FCUK womens the date planner set
Fearn cotton make up (round box one)
    FCUK men's wash/spray set
    Fisherprice safari sounds jungle
Rosie's world ribbons and curls salon
    Tomy train set
    Disney bath squirters

Didnt get everything i wanted but am happy with my little lot. Could'nt believe some people though they had trolley's that were literally overflowing with stuff! Sure that's on the verge of greedy :rotfl:

To be honest getting there early was the best idea as they still had quite a bit of stock and it was'nt silly busy. I would imagine by the end of the day most of the shelf's would of been pretty empty as things were flying off the shelves.

Decided not to bother with the nearest city as you can't get parked outside and with a buggy aswell it's nigh on impossible to carry so much.

So how did everyone else go on? This was my first year at the 75% sale and i will certainly be going next year :j. Also i bought some things in the 50% sale do you reckon i can return these? (i have a receipt)

  • Massive thanks to the OP and Martin for the tip off. I raided Boots Stafford (retail park) about 8:45 this morning, spent about £50 and got loads...

Still loads left when I departed, but all of the best stuff going very quickly and people piling huge amounts into baskets.

It just shows how ridiculous some of the sets are.... £10 for a FCUK showergel and deodourant.... who pays that? At £2.50 its just about good value for me.
A big believer in karma, you get what you give :A

If you find my posts useful, "pay it forward" and help someone else out, that's how places like MSE can be so successful.
