Just found this new site called Dutch Auction
https://www.dutchauction.co.uk
The prices go down rather than up and the first person to stop the auction wins at that price - has anyone seen this site before?
I'm thinking that it might be a good place for bargins if not many people are signed up then the prices should go right down??
What do you think?

Hello,
Yea I have seen that site and wondered along similar lines. Seems quite a good concept.

Took me a while to work this site out, but I'm pretty sure I've sussed it.
It isn't an auction site as such, but a clever ruse by a company to make it look like it is. The items for sale aren't offered by members, they are being sold directly by the company. I went through all their auctions, checked out a LOT of the prices and didn't find one single bargain. Every item for sale was a higher price than if you bought it straight from a company on the net. The prices were going down, but it's strange to me that not one single price was a good deal. Surely people aren't buying the goods for more then they're worth new? I can believe this for one or two products, but EVERY product.I don't think so.
My view on this site is. If you're interested in one of the products they're selling. Have a shop around on the net. You'll find it cheaper elsewhere. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

What is a Dutch Auction?
The Dutch auction originates, as you would imagine, from Holland, in the 17 th century and takes its name from the famous Tulip auctions held at this time. A seller who has an item they wish to auction would arrange a meeting with any prospective buyers. The buyers would then take a seat around a table and place a candle in the middle. The candle would be marked with prices in descending order from the top downwards. Once the candle was lit the buyers would wait until the candle burnt down to a price they were prepared to pay and snuff it out. The first person to snuff out the candle would win the auction.
This is the idea behind our site and explains why you will see a candle gradually burning down in our auction pages.
Seems a good idea too me!0 -
The idea of the auction is a good one. However, the prices are WAY over the top. The prices tick down very slowly therefore it would take a long time for them to come down to the same level as buying them brand new online. I checked out the site 2 hours later than my earlier check. ALL the products have changed. Now we have a new batch of goods at way over the normal price. There is no way that they've sold every single product at over the odds.
This site is a scam. Beware!!
For anyone that doubts this. Try to find just one item on the whole site that is cheaper than buying it new. I went through loads of products earlier on and couldn't find one single item at anywhere near the price they should be.How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

A joke - overpriced stuff. Reminds me of the Tv channels , Price Drop - where the price drops until they are all sold.
The MO is the same - Starts at a ridiculously high price and finishes at only a fairly stupid high price.0 -
Price drop.tv is a very good channel/auction imo. A few deals to be had ther
