Of course you'll manage it. Keep coming on here for support and motivation and you'll blow your target away :Tharduphelen wrote: »That is my first day of no spending and don't it feel good.It probably helped that I did not leave the house so should manage again today but tomorrow will be another day, back to work. I will need bread and milk must plan ahead I bet that is the key.:)
It feels brilliant doesn't it.:T It's a control thing and it feels great to be in control of your finances instead of them controlling you.:T
Planning is definitely the key. Write a list of all the things you are running short of so that when you go for the bread and milk you pick those up too and save yourself a trip to the shop on another dayFree by FiftyDebt of the Moment -August NSD Challenge 14/150 -
Popping in early to declare that today WILL be NSD number 2.
I chekced my banking and it's really not very good so I will not spend today and am going to do an inventory of the fridge and freeser to see what we have.
Meat is a little low but I'll have to try and find substitutes I guess. My DH and I don't mind vergetarian food at all, in fact I like it, but one of my children really moans on if he doesn't have something meaty (teenage boy).
One of my and my DD's favourite meals is chickpea curry. Just throw a lot of frozen/fresh veggies in a pan with a tin of chickpeas and a tin of tomatoes, some herbs, spices and curry paste and.... viola...a tasty meat free mealand the chickpeas make it taste meaty (IYKWIM)

Lunchtime!
So, I've checked my balance and as I suspected I need to pour more into the joint account. My personal outgoing have increased by £150.
Today will NOT be an NSD either. DH just reminded me that we need milk and bread. We've used more since I've been taking breakfast and lunch to work so this is unplanned spend.0 -

Hi guys!
Just popping in to declare today as #3.
Missed out yesterday because I had to post a gift off to cousins who have just had a baby.
Hopefully no spends tomorrow, but Sunday will be. I will go and take advantage of free parking in town to pick up some envelopes for Ebay sales and change my library books. Will also get petrol for the week ahead.
I just remembered today that my car tax expires at the end of this month... That's £100+ I could have done with not spending!:eek:Because it's fun to have money!
£0/£70 August GC
£68.35/£70 July GC
January-June 2019 = £356.94/£4200 -
Right, I'm grasping the bull by the horns and declaring NSD No 2 now. I don't need anything and only have schoolwork, cleaning and dog walking left to do today so the purse is staying at home.
Hurrah!:j
Can't decide whether to do the food shop tomorrow or Sunday - either way, one or the other of the days will be my next NSD - I am determined!0 -

One of my favourite meals too, stick chickpeas in anything and I'll eat it. I did the stock from the Xmas turkey last week, (meat sorted into pie an soup fragments) made it into curried turkey and chickpea soup, all portioned up in the freezer for lunches and turkey and veg pie, with the help of some puff pastry.here you go nosey pants

Very pretty I keep my buttons in a 17th Century Chinese covered bowl which I won years ago on Going for a song (yes showing my age) :rotfl: Don't think I'll let the grandkids play with my button box.
Talking of grandkids, taking No 1 grandson to see Scrooge with Tommy Steele at the Palladium tomorrow (Got exceptionally cheap tickets through a friend of a friend) as his 6th birthday treat. So tomorrow won't be a NSD so thankfully can report that today is NSD no 2, been out and done a mystery shop but don't count that spend as it is refunded, not intending to go out again later so it's in the bag.
Have fun not spending guys :T0 -
Popping in to say hello
I've had a bit of spend today - I bought some heavily discounted Christmas cards and wrapping paper. I have enough for next year now plus some tags. I've set aside a small amount for any decorations (particularly a wreath as I don't have one) that I see on sale.
I need to get my car valeted today, it's been ages since I had it done inside and for £4, it's well worth it. I need to get my oil changed so that will be tomorrow morning's job as well as filling up with petrol ready for going back to work on Sunday. DS also needs a new school shirt *sigh*.
Hope you all having a fabulous day :beer:CC1 £5999 Total Debt March 2021 £5999
