All being well the schools will open today but not sure toddler group will be on. Either way, I hope this will be another NSD as the toddler group costs a £1 but I have budgeted for that it my spends.
I was due to start a dance class last night but because of the snow it didn't happen therefore I'm £10 up as that was what I was going to pay the babysitter! It was in my budgeted spends.
I've decided to put any 'spare' money like that in to a pot and see how much it adds up over the next few months.
I always like to get a car park pass for the local nature reserve as it means I save £3.50 every time we go and we go every weekend when the weather is good! So it might go towards that.On target for mortgage freedom September 20230 -
Nsd no 21 today.
2 lb off at fat club & dident need need to pay :j
Well done Beanie!!
Sorry i didn't post last night, the snow is bad here now & i was pretty much the only person who made it into work  so by the time i finally got away i literally only just had time to shove on my wellies & head for the pub!! However i didn't spend over what i had allocated so that's number 13 for me please Freeby :j
Unfortunately the notice handing in wasn't as satisfying as i hoped. I had to tell boss man over the phone, as he wasn't in to read the letter i'd written, & all he said was "oh right, ok" Still even that hasn't managed to wipe the silly grin off my face!!February NSD challenge 5/150 -
Last checked in a week ago, when I announced a D/Debit on the Tuesday meant I could also pay for swimming lesson without the loss of another NSD.
Plans went a little awry, in that I couldn't get into my car to get to the gym - and as such couldn't pay for my swimming lessonBut I decided I'd count it as the money having been allocated that day as I'd had every intention of doing so (it wasn't until I was ready for the gym I discovered I couldn't actually get there, and it took hours for the car to defrost enough for me to get into it!).
Wednesday I paid for swimming (and put money for another 6 onto my gym payment card), but as mentioned above it was still an NSD as that was the only money I parted with - so NSD #9
Thursday was looking good for another - until the window cleaner came. So I paid for this week and the other visit I'll have before month end.
Friday should have been one, but I ended up picking a few treat type groceries for tea  I was absolutely shattered and didn't feel like cooking from scratch, but I still found it hard to actually convince myself it was OK to lose an NSD for this!!!
Saturday was finally another - taking me to NSD #10
Sunday saw me shopping at the Traff0rd Centre and C0stc0 with OH. So no NSD there.
Yesterday was never intended to be an NSD, as Monday is the day I get groceries (mainly veg) for making soups and lunches for work on Wed, Thur and Fri. But I'd also intended on filling the petrol tank yesterday, and that didn't happen as I wasn't happy to drive with the road conditions the way they were. This meant I walked the 3.7 miles to the gym for my PT session, did a smaller than planned shop in Mr T, and then walked the 3.7 miles home with a pretty full backpack. I did skip my swimming practise thoughI'm going to have to get liquid gold the next time I take the car out, so have decided that (as it wasn't totally my fault I didn't get it yesterday) I'm going to consider the money allocated. I also should have got (but couldn't carry) a 4pt container of milk for DS and a loaf of bread for me - so one of each has also been allocated for picking up later in the week without the loss of an NSD.
Checked my bank account for today, and there's no D/Debits gone. The only thing I'm going out for today is to order a prescription, so that takes me up to NSD #11Cheryl0 -
NSD#10 for me today.
My target means I am looking for another 5 in 9 days - it is going to be tough. I am away on a training course from Fri - Mon and the food is paid for so I am hoping at least 2 of those days will be non spending!
Difficulty is the social side of training - as I work in consultancy I am expected to socialise in the evening in the pub! But I will try to get to my target:)0 -
Good morning all
I'm reporting a NSD for Sunday which brings my total to 13. We had lots and lots of snow so yesterday the kids had a 'snow day' so were VERY happy!
Thankfully the heating engineer turned up (as promised) and the wonderful man fixed my heating so we are now toasty warm. A new pump was needed so a bit of a spend there, trouble is that is the fourth pump to be replaced since I have lived here (admittedly that is 12 years but they aren't supposed to break so often)! He told me that my system is full of 'gunge' and that is causing the pump to burn out so I have booked in to have a 'full system flush' (not as painful as it sounds lol). Another chunk of my 'not so spare' cash to be used this month but he advised it will prolong the life of the pump and the boiler and generally make the whole system work better. I will look at it as an investment as I plan to be in this house for another 8 years at least (the dream is to sell up once the kids have left school and downsize to somewhere rural where I can look out of my window and see fields and trees).
Not a NSD today as a DD has gone out of the bank but I'm still on track to hit target #2.
Am really enjoying being part of this thread, thank you so much for all the time and effort that goes into maintaining it.Sealed Pot Challenge 6 - Member 1938

NSD9! I'm always pleased with myself when I manage an NSD on a day home with the kids - I hate being home all day with no adult conversation, and it's so tempting to meet a mum friend for coffee as a treat in the middle of the day...which is what I had planned, but I rang her back and said let's take a picnic to the park, which we duly did.
Six left to capture in nine days. It's gonna be tough, but I'm doing much better than I would have done if I hadn't set this target, so even a failure is a victory.MFW diary here. 1 Feb 2017 $229,371 - MFD Feb 2043  aiming for May 2028

Let me know if I can help, I used to run my own company and I teach business studies.:D
Thanks MP2K,sorry i missed your earlier post
I start my new job on Friday, and my SE as soon as i can set it all up.
Although saying that, i dont know if i'll be able to get there on Friday, as all the roads and schools around here are shut as the ice is awful!
Another NSD here today, so thats NSD #10-FINALLY into double figures!!:j
I have an appt in a town 30mins drive away, at 12.30...but not sure i am going to risk it. There are accidents all over the place this morning.0 -
I can't believe we are getting towards the end of January now! Where on earth did this month go?!
Missed out on my planned NSD yesterday. A friend finally got back to me about meeting up to go on the Harry Potter Studio Tour near Watford, so I went ahead and booked that (we take it in turns to book stuff to do, and pay each other back - our friendship seems to mostly revolve around days out!).
It won't be one today either. As far as I know, I'm still on to visit my friend in the hospital at 2pm, but even if I don't, I still need to go to Tesco and the Post Office. I have a list though, so it shouldn't be a huge spend!Because it's fun to have money!

Where are you WTBSE?
If it's main roads and town centre roads, then I should think you'd be okay. Just go extra slow on the residental roads!Because it's fun to have money!
