  • Another 2 NSD's here over the weekend taking me to 15 - target met! Woo hoo!

Looking at my diary all I have bought this year is groceries! I know it's not even 3 weeks into the year but this is a real turn around!

Thanks for running this thread, it's really changed how I see spending! :-)

Awww it's so lovely to hear all the positive things being said about this thread, it's lovely to have so many people joining in & finding it helps!! :j

Gutted that i didn't get one today, but i changed a single plug socket for a double in the hallway & one of the lugs on the backbox snapped, so i had to go & get another one. I did debate leaving it, but as it meant the socket was hanging off the wall that wasn't very safe!!
I have to confess that while i was in Mr W (not sure if it's a blessing or a curse to have one 5 minutes up the road) i also bought some pale blue spotty fablon, a la C Kidston, to line the inside of the dressing table & some lovely white wicker baskets to organise all my make up & toiletries in there, very naughty, but it was all stuff that i would have bought at some point if not today.

I've also allocated my £8 for meeting the old men tomorrow (well i have to celebrate my notice somehow ), so if that's all i spend i can claw back todays missing NSD.

Oh & very sorry to ramble on, but just have to say the dressing table is looking fab!! It has no drawers yet (that's next week's project), but the carcass is upstairs, with the mirror attached & my things in the little cupboard & i lurve it, think shabby chicing may become my new favourite thing (& it will be so lovely to straighten my hair in the warmth of the bedroom instead of shivering in the hall!)

Bdini would like to see some photos sounds really creative. I noticed you have February NSD up. Is there a thread open for this yet, I'd hate to miss out on the group, this is my one stop on track station for motivation.

  • Hi all, yesterday was NSD no 11 so almost there. Today was meant to be a NSD but my son's ex had run out of gas when we got there to pick up my granddaughter and the local cash machine was empty so I gave her a tenner to put on her gas key. Can't see her without gas in this weather

Its been snowing steadily here all day so I'm hoping for a snow day at school tomorrow, dreading having to drive in the snow.

Hope everyone is warm and safe, hugs to those that need it.

I think BDINI's still on last year's NSDs in her siggy MR:D. Don't worry, freeby will let us all know when the new thread is up and running and we'll come and find you if you get lost.

Loving your comments about the challenge, it's so great to see our "newbies" enjoying it as much as us oldtimers:D (notice I did not say "oldies" this time, I got into terrible trouble for doing that before:D;))

    Evening everyone

And here we go with another update... and it’s going to be a biggie I think....:D

    Welcome to:

:hello: wildcherry - good to have you on board, freeby will add you to the front page tomorrow morning. Good luck with nabbing all those lovely NSDs and yay to the two you have already nabbed, that’s a great start:j:j:j
You’ve been busy today, hopefully you’ll get lots of sales. Re NSDs, it depends on what you want to target, we all make your own rules. Some of us, me included, don’t count DDs. My main aim when joining the challenge was to target unnecessary spends, I figured I can’t do much about the necessary spends so left the DDs out of it. Hope that helps x

    Target met:

:j:j:jDebt free soon - yay to a brilliant NSD no 15 and your target met, that’s fantastic!! :j:j:jFreeby will award your prize tomorrow morning, if you’d like to increase your target please feel free..... there are plenty of prizes waiting to be nabbed.
It’s good to hear that you feel you’ve got some benefit from the challenge:T

:j:j:jLMac - woohoooo to a brilliant NSD no 8 and your target met, that’s fantastic!! :j:j:j Freeby will award your prize tomorrow morning, and increase your target to 12, good luck, you can do it!

    Well done to:

    :j:j:jbeanie - that’s a brilliant NSD no 19 you’ve nabbed, well done you. Hope you’re feeling a bit better hun x:A

:j:j:jCandlewick - yay to NSD no 7 and being nearly halfway there... the next 8 must be easier ... you can do it. Hope you managed to get all your preparations finished today and the pile of ironing conquered:)

:j:j:jcouldsavemore - woohooo for a fabulous NSD no 14 that’s brilliant. You’re well over halfway now, keep going:T

:j:j:jDragon - yay to a brilliant NSD no 18... but be careful wresting with Igor, he can do some serious damage with that machete!!:rotfl:

:j:j:jemsloves - that’s a fantastic NSD no 16 you’ve nabbed, well done you! Hopefully today’s spends weren’t too serious and fingers crossed for lots more lovely NSDs:)

:j:j:jETO - yay to NSD no 11 being nabbed, just one more to get now, you can do it!! It sounds as though you’ve had a lovely day:T

:j:j:jflubberyzing - yuk to the snow, I’m fed up of it now. I hope you weren’t innundated with the stuff today
.. oh dear... it sounds as though you were but as a bonus NSD no 14 was firmly grasped, well done:T

:j:j:jIf - that’s a brilliant NSD no 11 you’ve caught today, well done you. Loving all the pictures, thank you soooo much for keeping us all chuckling, you’re a star xx :A

:j:j:jkatholicos - yay to NSD no 13, unlucky for some but not for you. Keep going, you’re doing brilliantly.
Thank you, I hope you’re staying warm and well also x :A

:j:j:jkerri - yay to NSD no 10 and into double figures, that’s brilliant! Hmmm... an hour in the snow doesn’t sound like a lot of fun to me either... hopefully you’ll get a reprieve;)

:j:j:jlottie3000 - woop woop to a brilliant NSD no 7, you’re nearly there now, keep going! No need to apologise re the late update. There are no rules here, you can update as often (or not) as you like x :)

:j:j:jmarmite - woohoooo to a fabulous NSD no 16, you’re doing brilliantly as always and yay to two days off, I hope you enjoy them x :A

:j:j:jModestyB - and a brilliant NSD no 15 firmly grasped by the throat, yay!!! DH must be firmly chained up in the cellar this month..
Hope the doggies are both OK? :)

:j:j:jmoneypenny - yay to a fabulous NSD no 11, you are indeed almost there with just one more to nab. Yukkk to the snow, I really hope you don’t have to drive in it tomorrow, will keep my fingers crossed for you x :A

:j:j:jWantToBeSE - looking forward to hearing about another NSD today, fingers crossed. Good luck with nabbing 5 in a row, of course you can do it
And you did it... NSD no 8 firmly grasped by the throat now, yay!! :T

    And hello to:

Pennysaving - sometimes you just can’t avoid a spendy day and, with a bit of luck, DS2 will pay you back tomorrow with something lovely to eat. Well done for nabbing 3 NSDs so far, you’re doing brilliantly :T

MummyR - what a brilliant clip, I love Victoria Wood :rotfl:

spandles - you stick with us, we’ll have you racking up those NSDs in no time ;)

Nargle - eek to the missing NSD... has Hubert eaten it??? I’ve spent today cleaning out the Tardis ready for the Burns night shindig this week and you really need to watch what Igor is letting him eat, you should have seen the state of the place......

BMF - good news on the soup, that is definitely a result.:j Yuk to the snow...

coolcats - that was a bargain shop even though you couldn’t get to L1dl, fingers crossed the snow disappears tomorrow and it starts to warm up a bit :)

BDINI - your dressing table sounds lovely... can we see some pics when it’s finished please? I hope you enjoy telling your “lovely” boss where to stick his job and enjoy your celebrations tomorrow with your old men, I’m sure they’ll be delighted for you. :A

Phew.... sorry this is so long :o:o
