Tomorrow is set to be a mini-spendy day, as the Ringtons chappie is due to restock us with teabags. However, more NSDs have been sighted in the distance (..when you've finished the digging, Igor....)
I was only thinking about your tea man & if you still had him (IYSWIM :rotfl:) when I was looking for some fruit teas to tempt my coffee-lergic tastebuds t'other day...before I'd read your post obviously, or it wouldn't have been worth my mentioning it *lowers head sheepishly, consciously twiddles with thumbs, glancing sideways every now & again to try to judge expressions on folks fizzoggs*
(Igor! When I said book some music and Scottish dancers for the entertainment on Burns Night, you must remember the NSD gang are a refined and edificated bunch. They will not be amused with what you have booked! Honestly, you think people actually find entertainment in watching The McFlinging Jocks do unmentionable things with their sporrans, whilst Hamish plays The Stripper on the bagpipes???)
Are The McFlinging Jocks the original line-up from the 40's & taught the guys on Brits (prove they have a greater sense of humour than they've) got Tal€nt how to dance with balloons? I thought I'd seen somewhere, about three of their sporrans were involved in a menagery for twoi--or was it 2 sporrans in 'trouble' after a night in the wardrobe with the bagpipes?--& a it takes years to train them, the group went into breeding haggis instead...

Not been doing much as slippery pavements & gale force winds are not exactly conducive to tempting antique parents across the threshold into Consumerland :D Not complaining tho, as I really must shift some blubber this time :o & the cash I had for crimbo will come in nicely for buying smaller sizes of clothing...I hope :embarasse (Can anyone suggest an alternative for egg please; don't think having bacon for almost every breakfast would help my health either & I need to increase my protein intake a bit) So by raiding the food stores to use 'what's in', I can say with upmost pleasure that I have achieved 13 nsds up to & including yesterday :T

  • A great Yorkshire dialect verb, lost from Standard English, is thoil (from Old English ‘tholian’ (to bear, endure) if you're interested). So when a Yorkshire person says ‘Nay, Ah can’t thoil t’ brass’ or 'Ah can't thoil it', this doesn’t mean ‘I can’t afford it’, but ‘I cannot bring myself to spend my money on this particular item’ or 'I cannot justify the expense'.

Now there's a word that needs reintroducing into the language:T

I make myself a t-shirt with 'Ah can't thoil it' written on it, for when I'm out and about on NSDs :rotfl:

A while ago i was thinking about setting up my own cleaning business, so i may go back to that idea, on top o this job, so that i can get WTC.
Need to start as from tomorrow :)

  • Afternoon all.

    NSD 15/25 :j

Its been pretty easy not to spend so far. Although feel like abit of a cheat as if I spend some money it will make a Direct debit bounce, so the option to spend isn't really there anyway. :D:o
