Legal & General - PPI Reclaim

Hi guys,

I am after a bit of advice i had a mortgage endowment policy with the Legal & General from 1996 - 2001 which i am not to sure if i paided PPI on or not.

I have since closed the policy, i don't have any paperwork at all so how will i find out if i paid PPI on that policy or not and if i can find that out will i still be able to claim that PPI back as it was so long ago and if so how do i go about it ?

Many Thanks for reading

Mr Baker

If your not sure if you had it how do you know if it were mis-sold? Having PPI isnt a reason in itself to have it refunded.
  • i am not 100% sure but i dont have the paperwork to prove it.

An endowment policy is not PPI, you would have paid interest only with the endowment policy running along side it. If you had died the endowment policy would have been claimed by your family to pay off the full mortgage.

Just thank the good lord that no claim was made or you wouldnt be here writing this.

  • LOL thanks for reassuring me McKneff i understand now cheers, the only reason i closed it as it was doing very poorly after 5 years, after year 2-3 i was getting letters saying i need to put more money in as it was not performing last time i ever get a mortgage like that again

They were a good idea at one time, people did get their mortgage paid and a little nest egg left over to spend. But then the crunch came.

I dont think they even sell endowment mortgages anymore.

Presumably you changed your mortgage to a repyment one then at the same time as getting rid (did you just surrender it) of the endowment part.
