OS Daily Friday 28th December Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Friday 28th December. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Morning everyone
Hugs to those that need/want them that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x
Have just seen the local news and 2 young girls have been killed in a car accident about 2 miles from where we live, so sad, seems like a family travelling as there were 2 adults another child and the 2 girls in the car - the adults and other child are in hospital but not serious. So sad and such a waste of young lives.
Dark damp and miserable here this morning.
DH up and off to work early - but not stupid early.
Dinner last night was a HM turkey and ham pie, DH got right stroppy and didn't eat it as he'd decided as soon as he walked in that he didn't like what I'd cooked, he was lucky it didn't end up in his lap! Made sure he knew how p****d off I was, I stood and took quite a while to prepare this meal so we could have something different as he moans about having the same thing - won't be putting myself out anymore! Tonight not sure what we will be having but have still got some LO's to use up.
Went to town yesterday to visit the bank and building society - also visited the big chemists' sale, managed to buy a good selection of their stuff on half price offer, niece and MIL sorted for birthdays - and also a good part of next xmas's prezzies! Didn't spend that much either, they are all safely stored away.
Today I will be doing a small food shop and getting packed and taking stuff down to the caravan as this makes getting away in the morning so much easier. Will check whilst I'm there what we have in the stores and what we will need.
Have a great day everyone, stay safe and well x

Morning :hello:
The recycling men came yesterday so that's got rid of lots of bottles
I'm going to sort through the fridge and freezers today, mr tru is at work so I can get on with it without him getting in the way.
The chicken shed looks lovely, all colourful and sparkly
Spent a couple of hours yesterday fiddling about with Windows 8 – AVOID IT AT ALL COSTS, lol. It looks horrible, works in a weird way and won't accept email addresses on POP3. I downloaded some tweaks and it's much better. I won't be using it though, I really don't like it. Mr tru didn't help – he kept whining that it wasn't right (I think he thought it should've been designed specifically for him) and I ended up yelling at him not to act like a 5yo. Obviously I'm now doing the mature thing and not talking to him.
Might open some wine this afternoon

Good morning nmlc and to all who cross/follow,
Very damp and miserable here today. So wet under foot.
Dd has her steroid injections in her eyebrows this afternoon. She is so nervous. It's a 45 minute appointment as there will be several injections. My head is banging. I think it will ease when it is over with. It's just not nice when one of your children are having something done.
Chilli and jackets for tea tonight. Made a huge batch, one big slow cooker full and a smaller slow cooker full. There will be loads to freeze.
nmlc, well done on getting some presents in the sale. Hope you have a nice time away.
Wm is on. Loads of ironing to do today. I haven't done any for a few days.
I forgot to put the rest of the turkey in the freezer yesterday. Will it still be ok to do so? I have to go through the fridge today to see if anything else has to go in the freezer.
I hope everyone has a good day and hugs to those who need them.

Good Morning All
Forever - hope the appointment goes as well as it can
Wet and miserable here, won't affect me as I need to look myself away in the office all day and get two loads of VAT done  OH is at work but should be home quite early and he will attack the washing mountain.
Business is quite stressful at the moment as we have stopped working for one client - money is sooo tight. However we are on holiday from New Years day for one week (booked ages ago) so I have loads to do before then
Ate the last of the turkey last night & will make turkey soup with the carcass today so that is a nice and easy dinner.
Nothing else to report. (((hugs))) wherever needed.x0 -
Morning all
Raining here again, I shall wander down to look at the floods later.
Fish fed, hubby has a cuppa in bed, he'll get up about 9ish.
No plans for today apart from buying a loaf of bread, eating more chocolate & doing some more knitting.
Have a great day everyone.
Hugs Hester

FS. Good luck to dd today x
Need to attack the ironing today I did a lot of washing yesterday so the ironing pile is huge
Need to make some more bread, it disappears as soon as I make it
Dd2 wants me to take her driving today, I know she needs the practise but it scares me lol
Left overs for meals today so nice and easy
Have a good day everyone xx0 -
Morning All
Hope you have all had a good christmas and not eaten too much - I have had a good time and eaten far too much! I am still at friends in Yorkshire, DD took DS2 back to Edinburgh last night and then went home, she will be getting he train to Preston on Saturday evening where I will pick her up and we will go to Chester for a few days to visit family and friends.
Going to have a catch up on here today and then maybe go to see if there are any second hand shops open, I like a good rummage! Apart from that I will take their dogs for a walk (wet and windy here) and probably eat some more!
Big hugs to those having a bad time at the moment, especially Jools and Bryn - so sorry to hear of your losses.
Take care. XX0 -
Morning all
Terrible news about those 2 young girls, and the 2 young boys on xmas day, always sad, but worse this time of year
Tru - Lucky you, our council won't take glass on health and safety grounds! So I have to save it up and take it to the tip or a bottle bank. So annoying! The recycling men came yesterday so that's got rid of lots of bottles
It's raining again, so gutted as yesterday was glorious sunshine! I'm meeting my friend from Camp America today, the one whose Dad lives here, :j:j can't wait to see her! We will swap small presents today, think we are going for lunch and a look in the sales.
Tonight I shall be having a quiet evening. Yday was so full on, I'm shattered despite 10hrs sleep. And I have a busy weekend coming up, and then my op on Weds, so need to be rested.
OS wise - dishes to wash from yday's dinner (my mum washed most, just the desert/glasses/cups left), lots of LO food from the meal, I'll portion up 2 plates - one for today one for Sunday, and freeze the rest! Should go to the bottle bank as I'm out n about. WM may go on later if there is a load.
Have a good day all

Wet here, dog walked, kids fed. Going to take them to Stratford, have a walk along the river (providing its not flooded) and just get out of these four walls
H fancies a chow mein for tea, need to buy some chicken as I don't have any in freezer for once
That's about it for me. Hugs and spoons all round but especially for Jools and Unclebryn xxxx
Have a great day all
