I need to replace my car and after looking round garages I really like the mazda5, especialy the sliding doors. The only thing putting me off is that I have read on various sights that the mazda5 eats tyres, ie. new tyres needed at 10 - 12000 miles, and that mazda refuse to acknowledge the problem. In the showroom the salesman admitted to the recall for suspension noise (which I had read about) but denied any knowledge of tyre wear.

Does anyone have any experience of this car and should I let the forums put me off?

These are the forums I had read. My question is, does this mean I shouldn't consider this car? The size, flexibility, price and look of it were all appealing.

It depends what else is around really. Factor in the cost of some new tyres and then see how it compares.

Reading some articles from maxda 5 forum it seems the tyre wear could be related to incorrect tyre pressures.
