That might be the best price at the moment for a 3rd generation model. Good spot.

But....... Apple fans tend to want the latest model, and so would be more interested in the iPad 4 32GB for £479 from Apple direct.

And if you're happy with an older model, the iPad 2 32GB is on Apple's refurb section for £319.

Retailers are seldom able to offer much discount on Apple stuff... must be well controlled distribution chain and terms..

Haha, te main difference Between the 3 and 4 isthe charger port!

I would go for the 2 because it's basically the same as the 4 and 3 and is MUCH cheaper

The 4 is called iPad retina display and has an A6 chip. Apparently. According to Mr shoe who has bored me senseless with it this week. The 5 is out in March.

Good deal thanks, however I went with John Lewis, they were £30 more expensive but have a 2 year warranty.
Love your Mum, you'll never get another one when she's gone.
  • If you keep an eye on the refurb section of apples site you can pick up the 3 for less than that, also as the next one is due in march, around release time the 4 will become unavailable on the apple store and go into the refurb site - lots of discount. I got the 3 on the release day of the 4 with 25% off

  • I got pennies from Santa to buy myself an ipad and I was thinking of going for one of the refurbs on the website - can get an iPad 2 32gb for £319 - anyone had a refurb that can vouch for them?

I have just bought an I pad from John Lewis as it had the 2 year warranty, this is for a present, I dont have one yet but I have a friend who has bought two now, I think the company is something like 'opened boxes' or 'open boxes'. It's items that have been returned with the boxes opened but unused, usually a good bit cheaper.
    Good luck ;)

Thanks for that :) I've had a wee google and can't seem to bring anything up for a company like that - but I'll keep looking lol :)

  • I'm on a refurb as we talk scottishlass and it's perfect, only difference was the box. if it hadn't been such a bargain I would have gone with John Lewis also, due the extra warrantee but I paid only 20 quid more for the 3 (32gb) than you are looking at for the 2, and I figured it would have a better resale value. I had been holding out for a good deal though :)

Keep looking on there, they offer the same guarantee as new iPads and if the new one comes out soon the old ones will appear on there and fall in price x
