Ford Fiesta locking problem

Hi,

Bought a my first car back in June everything was fine with it the only problem was that the doors wouldn't lock for what I paid I couldn't complain as the car is only used for work.

I work nights in a busy town centre, twice I have come back and my car door has been open despite fitting an alarm to the vehicle.

Now for the problem, when I lock the door it locks then automatically unlocks its self, however, as long as I push both handles inwards at the same time I can lock the door from the inside.

I had an accident a few months back which resulted in the drives door not being able to open at all after the accident though the doors would lock, after fitting a new door the problem continued the door will lock then unlocks it self.

Does anybody have any experience with this, how much would it cost to get sorted I would prefer to fix the problem myself rather then take it to a garage

The car is a ford fiesta 51 plate if that helps?

Thanks

Chris
