"Upgrading" a degree

I have a degree from UCL, I didn't really try my hardest, I regret not trying harder. I got a third. I'd like to try and improve my grade via a local uni or via the open university, Is this possible? Or would I have to either retake the whole degree or another one?

Not possible to upgrade, and the costs of doing another degree from scratch would be very high. However, you can do things with a third: that is the grade that Einstein got!

Although you would need to pay for the additional courses, the OU will give you credit for your previous study up to 240 credits and the extra units could improve your grade. If you give them a ring they should be able to advise you on this and give you some indication of what you could raise your grade to.

Yes Dunroamin is right - when I taught on degree courses some of the students retook courses to get better grades. It's expensive but some people got their grades changed. But do ask them, as they'll be able to give you the clearest answer!

I contacted the OU and they said I can't do anything with my degree.

I'm thinking of taking another subject via them, Thanks for all your help

Really? I'm surprised. Sorry if I've given you incorrect advice.

If an employer is that bothered about classification, a postgrad qual will not change the fact that the OP has a third. :o

if a degree was actually awarded the OU cannot change it as they cannot 'remove' the original award - otherwise people could use the same points more than once to have more then one degree...

    Stashbuster - 2014 98/100 - 2015 175/200 - 2016 501 / 500 2017 - 200 / 500 2018 3 / 500

I don't think you have, my understanding was the same. This thread on TSR seems to confirm it also.

The higher degree would trump the bachelors.
