ATM didn't give me cash but it shows on bank statement

I went to the ATM at my local post office a month ago and tried to withdraw £300. The machine gave me £200 and then shut down saying something on the screen about it being out of order.

I went to a nearby bank to see if it would give me any, thinking that my daily limit was £300 and if the system had thought it had already given me £300 then it would deny this. The other bank however did give me £100 I asked for so i took this as an indication that the system acknowledged it had only given me £200 so far.

My bank statement has just arrived and it shows £300 being withdrawn at the post office and £100 being withdrawn at the second ATM, leaving me £100 short.

As this was a month ago I am wondering whether I have leg to stand on if I go to the post office and tell them the machine only gave me £200........any advice please?

Contact your own bank and submit a claim.

And start using online banking. Then you don't have to wait a month to find out important information.

Ring your bank. ask for atm disputes team and explain the situation....

Very common problem. So do not worry.

Do not bother with the PO (they use bank of ireland for atms) as all they will do is direct you to your bank.
