Canon Pixma printers

Hi All, does anyone know what difference there is between the Canon Pixma MG3150 and the MG3155? Both appear to have wifi but there seems to be no obviouse difference between them. I've asked in variouse stores and come up with a blank every time.

  • Probably very little difference at all, if any. Can't even find the 3155 on Canon's own website, it only seems to show the 3150, so my guess is it's the same model just built more recently (Sep 2012 according to Amazon) than when the 3150 was originally released (Aug 2011).
  • Thanks Dan, I did look on Canon's website and couldn't find the 3155 myself. Ryman's in Barrow have got 1 of each so I could get them to drag them out of the boxes I suppose. They are selling at the same price each and the same as everyone else, so there might be a deal on by Canon. I've E-mailed Canon support but I think they are shut for Christmas.

  • Thanks Santer, I couldn't find them in the comparison list either. I've E-mailed them but they may be shut for Christmas. The £40 price seems to be everywhere, I haven't seen them cheaper.

Have seen both at £40 each at the moment
  • Different colour ?
  • No, I've seen the spec and the picure of each and they appear to look the same. The 3150 is available in white, but the number is the same.

Manufacturers sometimes use this small model number differences to provide 'exclusives' to shops. Even though the model is essentially the same the same it doesn't show up on price comparisons with other retailers. It could be that the '3155' models were formerly Comet stock that have been bought up in bulk (or never made it to the stores in the first place).
  • Yep, that could well explain it.
