I feel a bit sad that the days of parties at home have passed. What happened to balloons, jelly and ice cream with pass the parcel games? Why do children need expensive entertainment such as this?

I don't know what Gullivers World is, but I can only assume it is some sort of park entertainment. Why not stick to a traditional trip to the zoo and save the money you would spend on this expensive day out in an account for your daughter when she is older? At two, she'll hardly know the difference.

There seems to be a lot of competition to provide the best party for young children these days (my neighbour does the same) - oneupmanship at its best.

I hope you have a lovely day whatever you decide to do. Indulge your little girl with your attention, not expensive trips out.
Do not allow the risk of failure to stop you trying!

hi actually her birthday is friday and we are going gullivers world saturday. On the friday we are having a tea party for her where i have bought balloons and a cake etc,we thought it would be a treat for the whole family.
regarding saving money for her and my son,we do save £15 each a month which goes into savings for when they are 18.

i understand you point but think you were a bit quick to judge,i found it quite insulting to say she would prefer attention instead of days out,but she would recieve lots of attention on the day out intself.

also quick point to mention that ''Why not stick to a traditional trip to the zoo'' would be the same price as gull world.
appreciate what you have got x
  • Hi - hope your DD has a fab birthday. We have been to Gulliver's Land in Milton Keynes (same group of companies) and it is really good. Lots for all kids to do (even really little ones), plenty of places to eat and great atmosphere.....our two adore it....! When they were really small it used to really wear them out :j :j (within a couple of hours usually) and we ended up going home early.
We also found out that you could go in for half price after about 3 o'clock :j which still gave you 2 1/2 hours (more than enough for a two year old) so that is worth checking out. Also always take your own food - it's money-saving and at least it is stuff your kids like.
Hope the weather is great and you have a lovely day.

I second the other mce. Last time we took the family to Gullivers we loved it (having been quite a few times). Much cheaper than the "big" parks and much more child orientated - there's only a few rides that will be too big for a 2-3 year old. I think if I remember rightly it's aimed primarily at children under 10. I'm not sure of any discounts as I say it's been a while since we last went, but if you do go, hope you have a fab day x Happy Birthday to your DD x

Chester zoo is more expensive than Gullivers world as is knowlsey.
We went Gullivers world as couple of weekss ago, its a tenner to get in your little girl will be free. Some of the rides are too old but there are quite a few that she can go on. Its also cheaper than Blackpool
The weather is supposed to be nice on saturday too
    Enjoy x

My DS (4) loves Gullivers - which one R u going to - the Matlock one is really hilly. I don't think the food is very good at the Knowlsey one so I'd always take a picnic or eat before you go in.

    Have a great time

I have taken my 4 children to Gullivers World in Warrington on several occasions. I spoke to the manager of the park, who said Saturdays were the quietest, as most people are out shopping on that day.
The park (if you havent been before) is aimed at younger children, lots to see & do, although I don't recommend the haunted house & my 3 eldest came out crying! Childrens favourites were the spinning cups & the little train ride, dodgems as they got older.
I believe if your child is under a certain height they get in free, and also as a poster mentioned, after 3.30pm, entrance is cheaper.
Also take lots of drinks as they are expensive in the park.
Have a great day & enjoy the weather, Happy Birthday to your DD.
  • I have taken my girls to Gullivers world in Warrington since they were little and we always really liked it. Last year we went to the Halloween weekend and had a fab time trick or treating, walking through the haunted woods at night and all the rides. They often do special days like that, register with them for emails with their offers.

I think its great value for money, about £10 each for a whole day out and even at 2 I think there will be lots for your son to do.

    Have a lovely time!

    Sarah xx
