Well my daughter was given one of these for christmas, and the sites she normally uses like moshi monsters all need adobe Flash player and it lists several versions.
Anybody know which version it would need?
Thanks

The Kindles run on a modified version of Android. Flash is no longer supported on Android by Adobe. There are (very technical) ways to get Flash onto a new tablet/phone (not sure about Kindles) but it's not worth it IMO. Flash is no longer a mobile thing.0

Point being, Flash is on the way out, was only briefly supported on mobile devices, most of the flash games you play are designed for a mouse, it's very processor intensive so may run rubbish if you do get it to work....
Is it really worth it? I'd say if you want flash, you need a proper computer.0 -

Yeah in my opinion its worth it. I have it running on my phone and the 3 android tablets I have. Many videos on the BBC website don't run without flash and its the same for lots of other websites. My kids like busy things and while it may take a bit of time to load on the cheap single core tablet it still works fine and its a breeze on the dual core ones
I don't know about the kindle fire but for normal android tablets its simple to install. you just have to allow non market downloads and then download the latest version for your OS. Takes no longer than 5 mins.
Much easier than firing up a PC sometimes just to watch a 2 min video0 -
Emy1501 - is it really as easy as enabling 'installing from other sources' then downloading the Flash package? On Jelly Bean? If so I'd love to see a link...0

On our Nexus 7 I can only get Flash embedded in a website to play using Firefox Beta, and even then I need to tap the plugin to get it to start. And even then it only worked after I side-loaded the Flash 11 APK.0

I did it last night on a Tab 2 I just got. I downloaded flash before I updated to Jelly bean but it works still after the update.
Yes it's as simple as I said and took about 2 minutes. As said, put adobe flash archives into brower, click on the adobe link. Then scroll down to Android 4.xx and download the latest apk and install it. Once you have down that your good to go.
Most tablets though are still ICS though and I have updated a Versus touch tab and Archos Cobalt in the last week without any problems. Flash based website are bit slow on the Versus but do work.
On the tab 2 or the Cobalt most stuff is fine. Flash though does not work using Chrome.0
