'My other half'

I write "my OH" online, I say "my boyfriend" in real life.
The alternative is to start talking about my "bidie-in"! (Live in partner.) Now that really is local dialect!0 -
I prefer to use the name Husband though i rarely use it on a forum and usually use the term hubby though i aint particularly keen on the name but i hate DH, OH even more.
I'd prefer to be referred to as 'my Wife'.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
The one I can't stand is 'the Mrs'. Me and my Fiance work together and they always refer to me as 'the Mrs'. I have a name. I am a person and we aren't even married yet.

I'm not keen on the term "other half" either. I detest being asked if I have a "partner", it's so PC and to me partner refers to a gay couple or a business partnership - asking if I have a "partner" is like saying, "Are you a lesbian or shacked up with someone?". I'd much rather be asked if I have a boyfriend or husband! But then, even though I'm 28 I am a traditionalist.
Also "partner" reminds me of cowboys - "Howdy Partner!".0 -
I use other half as boyfriend seems too 'childish', partner makes people think your gay and we're not married so hubby is out.Save £200 a month : [STRIKE]Oct[/STRIKE] Nov Dec Jan Feb Mar Apr0

i would generally ask if someone had a partner. As I wouldn't like to assume they were NOT gay, and therefore partner covers either sex.0

If someone asked me if I had a partner then the answer would be no. I have a husband, to me partner means living with someone without being married.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

It could be worse. In Spain, when someone is looking for a partner, they refer to "buscando a mi media naranja".
That means looking for my half an orange ...0 -
Of course I always refer to 'my better half......'
Only joking0
