Tom Tom - Us Maps - Best Deal??

Options
Hi, travelling to US and would like to have the card to insert into my TomTom so that I get the US road directions etc. Looks like another £100 and as I only want it for a holiday this seems very expensive.

Anyone have any bright ideas before my holiday becomes even more of a drain on my finances (maps not an option before you say it !)

Thanks
Thank you to everyone who has helped me MoneySave

Sat nav is a great help arriving in a strange place after a long flight. If you are hiring a car you will probably be able hire a unit from the rental firm to go with it. I think it is a common extra now and should only be a few dollars a day.

If you need to buy, the tomtom site has all us and canada maps for 100-109 euros depending on your device. You download and install on your own card. A bit cheaper than £100.

This company have the US maps for £68 on DVD, a little more if you need a bigger memory card. (not a direct recommendation, just the first thing that looked suitable on a google search for `Tomtom Maps`)

Buying in the USA is likely to be cheaper. You might also consider buying a used device. Here's an Amazon link for the 700 model, with a good description and a review (at the bottom of the page).

I use the TomTom ONE model which is cheaper and adequate for my needs. Instead of a Hard Drive it has a plug-in memory card (like a digital camera) which makes map-swapping simple.

Here's an Amazon UK link for the TomTom ONE:

    Hope this helps. :)
