Concentrate on the actual kWh used rather than the monetary value.
I know the point you are trying to make there, but I would respectfully suggest in many situations (such as this thread) it is better to concentrate on the meter reading. Then forum regulars can advise on the conversion. You are right to mention the importance of the number of digits and/or leading zeros.0
