E.Mail Query

Options
I was just wondering what the purpose of CC (Carbon Copy) is when sending

e.mails. A friend told me that if you send an e.mail to say Dave, and CC the

e.mail to Bill, then Dave cannot see that the e.mail has been copied to bill. I

have tested this theory with a few colleagues at work and this seems to be

untrue.

Cheers

Stuart.

    It is untrue.

You are confusing it with bc: (blind copy) which the action addressee will not see.

Yes i use the "Bcc" function in my email to forward jokes/funnies etc to multiple recipients from my address book. The recipient doesn't see anyone elses email addys thus ensuring privacy. Sending "CC" just sends a copy to yourself I believe!

Basically you put somebody in Cc field who may find your email of interest or out of courtesy.

The recepients To or Cc fields will not see anybody you put in the Bcc(Blind Carbon Copy) field.

Not quite, but it's quite often semantics for a home user.

At work, To: and cc: are used to distinguish between Action and Information addressees.
