All their advertising that I have seen have made it clear that it's an extra 15% off when you spend £50 or more.

They do have sale prices, but I guess in line with nearly every other sale item, most have had inflated prices for a few weeks before Christmas, or have been sold at the same or lower price in the past.

Why shouldn't you go there for a tin of paint or a small shelf?
  • I noticed the 15% off everything when I went to B&Q yesterday and thought it would be a little extra off, however it was only when looking at the items I was after that I noticed a shelf end ticket and saw that it was for purchases over £50.

So went to Homebase instead they had a similar offer with similar small print but were slightly cheaper anyway.

Shame shops have massive signs with big percentage savings but the small print or "up to" are not as prominent.
  • I thought it was quite clear what the offer was and it saved us quite a bit on things we needed anyway.

Unlike homebase, B&Q staff know what they're talking about, smile and at least act polite! Homebase (in Reading anyway) are awful.

  • As I walked into B&Q, a member of staff handed me a leaflet which said very clearly it was 15% off a £50 spend.

Can't see what the problem is.

Agreed. I went in to B&Q this morning. At the entrance to the car park was a big sign, clearly saying "spend £50 or more", then there was a sign on the door saying the same, then I was given a leaflet saying the same. Hard to miss really :)
