Toy Trail/My charitable idea for 2013
Options
Tis the season for goodwill so with this mind I wanted to get feedback on a possible idea I have been mulling over.

As a member of Cubs many years ago, I used to provide a shoebox of toys to be sent off to various projects never to be spoken of again. Where did they go? What happened next?
My idea of a charitable website project for children, tentatively named Toy Trail or Toy Trek, would tell you. The website would allow to user to follow an avatar of their toy (perhaps they could name it) travel round a map of UK and the world to reach various projects. Once the toy has made its journey, it would tell the user how to find out more about that particular project.

The fun project would educate children by increasing awareness of various issues that afflict children worldwide for instance child poverty in the UK. It also uniquely allows children to dwell on the human dimension of the simple act of donating. Toy Trail allows them to continue the story. This provision might inspire a generous and charitable trait in children.

The technology does exist as demonstrated with the Book Crossing project in which you type in a code to discover where their book as been before. I do know this a huge idea so I really need your help making it into reality. Do you any advice? Any IT skills? Do you have any contacts with projects who would like children’s toys to pass on?
If you’d like to get involved please PM me.
Thank you mse users and a Happy New Year
