Instant access savings accounts....

Just looked at my account and £1.49 interest for £10k balance does not seem attractive, I have had a search around on the main players and other than ING, it seems the going rate, don't want to chance peer to peer.
Am I at a lost cause for some half decent instant access savings?

Well the best of these would give you £235.

  • Even at 0.1% interest you would get £10 per year, less tax if appropriate .

What period does your £1.49 cover?
  • Hi,

Yes, find it very strange that someone who uses MSE so much has such a poor savings rate ?

You really need to shop around the best buy tables, despite the rates falling recently there are still a few good instant access ones around

My current account bank is offering a regular saver account for 12 months at 8%, no catches.
You can only save £300 per month / £3600 pa, but at 8% why not !

Just depends on how 'active' you want to be managing your money.

One month, the month before it was £4.30 for slightly less money, so it seems the introductory rate has now reduced.

I am on here a lot but not this particular board :o
It would be interesting to learn which account this is? Only the P2P accounts seem to be anywhere near that rate, but not covered by the FSA

you can get 3% AER with Lloyds Vantage and Santander 123. Some monthly deposit requirements but these can usually be easily met.
