why do sellers do this ?

 I was about to bid on two vehicles over the last two days in the last minute of the auctions.

However, the sellers withdraw them with less then two minutes from the
auction ending. although the reserve prices was not met (yet) I am furious and disgusted that sellers can withdraw an auction in the last few minutes of the auction ending. I have been waiting all week for these vehicles to end to make a bid.

Why do ebay let them get away with this ?

Rant over:mad:

How does the seller know you were going to bid on it??
why dont you contact them and say that you are interested in the item and are willing to make an offer and maybe buy it privatley?? i did that with my car when a potential buyer missed the end of the auction to bid!
  • I did that when the auctions started. The funny thing is both states that they wanted the auctions to run to the end.

I don't understand; if you knew from the beginning of the auction that you wanted to bid, why didn't you? Especially after you'd lost the opportunity to buy one car.
  • Simple, I have come across this many times. Sellers get a friend or create a new ebay account and start bidding on their own vehicle thus bumping the price. They hope that some mug will start bidding against them. I have always on anything on Ebay I have brought waited to the last minute to bid and had no problems.
