The fraud department called me at 9am this morning. I couldn't pick it up so I call them back. They told me my first purchase looked fraudulent (despite that I have bought from that same company before several times before and made purchases of higher value before). So they even refused my transaction for a £4 book on amazon later on. I am going to have to try buying those stuffs again.

Last time they refused my transaction I had to redo it three times. Called them - they said it's OK now. Waited 10 minutes and placed the order again. Didn't work. Call them again. Again they said it's OK now. And when I try placing the order again and it still didn't work. Called them for the third time and they said - OK why don't you place the order while you are on the phone. Then it finally worked. The order was under £200.

I complained to them before and they kept on saying it's for good reasons. Well I can understand what they are saying but blocking purchases sent to my billing address, with companies I have purchased from multiple times before, is just ridiculous. I have had this credit card and e.g. the amazon account for over 10 years. This overzealous fraud dept at Halifax is costing me both money and time.

Still my main point is that the 24 hour customer services phone line was closed.
    No it wasn't.

    All the automated functions worked.

Does its say 365 days a year? As to me personally when soneone says they are open 24/7 it means to service your account using the automated service.

If it was fraud and the bank did not act on it, what would have been the outcome?

If it is 24/7 I expect it to operate all year round. If they aren't going to be providing full services 24/7 they should specify clearly that they don't do xmas and new year. It doesn't take up that much more space on a card does it?

If this is how Halifax operates they should just forget about issuing credit cards.

So orders placed with companies which I have ordered from for years and years, delivered to my own home look fraudulent, pretty much all online transactions look fraudulent.

Make a suggestion them, I can not see it being implemented though.

Or if your are unhappy with their service bank elsewhere.

Yup they would just ignore me. Last time I complained about the "fraudulent order" and still it happened again.

I just missed out on a bargain thanks to their fraudulent department.

May be all moneysavingexpert members should sign up with them. They stop you from spending. Saving becomes compulsory.

Follow the banks complaint procedure should you wish to raise any concerns:
