BHS Refund Policy - Faulty nightwear

I purchased a dressing gown and matching onesie on the 14th Dec from BHS online. They were presents for Xmas, today she has opened them, loved them but when she tried on (tags are still on) the onesie one of the fasteners is broken. We are out of the 28 days policy but I would think we should still be offered a refund due to it being faulty. They no longer sell the item online and I am doubtful of getting her size instore, is it likely they will exchange or refund the dressing gown too as they were bought to match.
Very disappointed with BHS shoddy quality. Also disappointed that they have no Xmas gift policy on their website, I know that some retailers give extra time for returns for purchases in Nov/Dec but nothing to indicate this on BHS website.
Are BHS usually difficult to deal with on matters like this?

You sound like you're slating BHS before you've even notified them of the problem.
Just phone them, or take both items into the store and see what they can do.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Doesn't matter what their policy is re the faulty item - there should be a no-quibble refund.
Re the matching dressing gown ask nicely for a refund if they are unable to replace the onesie;) check the paperwork sent with the order.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

I haven't slated them just said I was disappointed that their policy on Xmas returns isn't on their website. I am disappointed that I paid more to purchase from them than the like of Primark and it my daughter was let down with her present. I have emailed them through their contact page, I was hoping someone might have experience of how good their customer service is in a case like this where I am over the 28 days, no point in going into the store in the town centre, paying for parking if they are likely to tell me no chance.
Most stores advertise their Xmas gift policy and Asda and Tesco are usually excellent with replacing faulty items just wondered if this was the same with BHS.0 -
