I am normally self employed but am in between contracts at moment. I have savings and equity in a buy to let property, will I be entitled to anything from the state (having paid tax and NI whilst employed) - is there a threshold of wealth / savings beyond which you are disentitled?

If you have more than £16,000 in savings you won't get any benefits. You may be able to claim contributions based jsa depending on your own national insurance record.I am normally self employed but am in between contracts at moment. Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.
