Anyone got any experience of swordfish steaks i.e. how best to cook them? Got some tonight very cheap so thought I would try them.:)
Make a paste with olive oil, corriander, lime juice and a touch of garlic.
Coat the steaks with mix and leave for an hour before gently frying.
South India way of cooking swordfish and very yummy!:):)N1LDA:D0 -
Unfortunately I had to take my oldest dog to the vets this afternoon.
Sadly she had to be put to sleep.:(:(
RIP Loopy, you were a true friend.
I'm so sorry to read about your dear little Loopy passing Squigs. x
She looks like such a cutie and, I know from experience how painful it is to lose part of your family like that. Every dog that passes takes a little bit of our heart with them.
My old German Shepherd Ben went in a similar way to your Loopy. He seemed very well in himself, had his morning walk, ate his breakfast and by the afternoon he seemed tired and panting. We called out the emergency vet, and like your Loopy he had a bleed from a tumour (on his spleen). It was a terrible shock for him to go so suddenly, but the vet assured me that it is not painful. They feel weak from the loss of blood but it is not painful like bone cancer.
Looking back years later I am glad my Ben went like that rather than a long drawn out illness.
I know your heart will be breaking right now, but in time I know you will be able to remember Loopy and look at her photos and smile at all the lovely times you spent together and all her special little ways. :A
Big hugs to you & your family and to anyone else with poorly animals or humans to care for.
MM x
p.s. Happy Belated new year to everyone, I've not been online much so sorry I have missed so much & no chance of catching up x"I expect to pass through this world but once. Squigs this sounds like a lovely recipe for swordfish- OH loves it and says that it is a dry fish so defo needs olive oil as a minimum with garlic and lemon if you choose. The leaving it for the hour or two is key to success.never stop doing your best because someone doesn't give you credit0 -
