  • There isn't a given right to use coupons. It is always at the discretion of the store. They got more right to do that than we have to use them

Tosco company policy is that vouchers will be accepted provided you have purchased the item. There should be a sign at the till stating this.
  • Hi guys. Haven't posted in a while but can I get advise on coupons since I'm sure you've the best experience with staff. Can a whole store just refuse coupons "because they've had lots of frauds so refuse them now" I'm sure I always read stories of you guys being pushed by the staff but your in your right to use them etc... The supervisor (or guy the SA dinged for) said he accepts non of the "safecoupons and haven't for months" and of course the SA had no clue about this... I emailed CS about it and they called back and said they spoke to the store and this store is indeed no longer accepting them and its up to stores to decide.. But I've never heard this happening to trout stories on here. Should I have fought harder? I was hoping I could get a confirmation that they should accept them but it seems if they want to say no they can do :/
EDIT: This was in tosco btw

Was there a sign in store stating vouchers taken if item purchased and excluding safecoupons.

Last day of holiday for my littlest :( That means more sandwiches tomorrow.

Westie, I hope HC is either helping or paying you for all that work!!! (and don't accept either Bavaria or maltesers) :rotfl:

    Hi

My understanding is that queen of cheap is right and any store can refuse to transact with any customer at any time irrespective of "currrency" being offered in payment.

There is a massive difference between what is law and what is company policy/good customer service, and thankfully T is pretty dire at getting both right, as the majority of times things fall in our favour. How many glitches, mega bargains, misprices and offers for compensation do we get at well managed retailers?

On the whole, it seems to be more lucrative in the long run not to haul T up via head office for poor customer service, but that is not to say you won't get a favourable response if you do. But I don't think there is any legal route to enforce a decision in your favour.

Apparently he is buying lunch, but I have told him I'd rather have something to eat at his flat :)
Something unexpected happened which made me smile and still continues to make me smile.
