Anyone know the best car check type service/website.
As in been in crash/wrote off, hpi or whatever.
Found a car for eldest on Friday had a mechanic look it over on Saturday, due to pick it up Wednesday or so after mot and few scuffs etc sorted.
Happy with it but just thought might be worth doing :cool:When The Fun Stops Stop0 -

DD's friend came last night and she recently started at T as a supervisor. She knows about DTD and wombling and told me to look out tommorow as a lot of promotions end tonight. Might be worth a look in the morning. i will have to go early as off to Costco with Mum and my 2 sisters. Anyone know of any good offers there at the moment?0

Evening all. I agree there can be some good advice but I find them worse than the darkside...just watch out for judgmental and "perfect" mums on there who seem hell bent on making others feel inadequate
 luckily I have not encountered this on my London group; they are area specific but that's awful, the whole point is to be a supportive network for other mumsMay: Make £5 a day £115.38 / £155

None of the cheap ones give outstanding hp, you have to use an hpi type thing for that.........found that out the hard way:(
depends on how new the car is, if its a basic run around its unlikely it has hp, as long as you get sight of the log book and it checks with the address you visit etc.
ok I'll come clean...
am in the cartrade and wanted to buy a car from a friend of a friend who didn't have the log book.
Did a basic check as I knew them (sort of) and hpi is expensive......the log book was with log book loans and I had applied and got the log book from dvla with no probs as compeltley unaware of the scam.
After about three months a man knocked on the door early in the morning, he had clamped the car and had a lorry standing by.
At this point most people would have lost the car, but as I have several strapping sons and a stroppy OH they moved cars to within an inch of either end of the car and advised that if any damage occured they would sue.
We negoitiated with the loan company and had to pay £300 to remove the charge on the car.........
moral of this story is, anyone can get caught.0 -

No idea cost wise, but i would go with the aa or rac names you can trust and fall back on should they be wrong. They all searchbthe same databases as far as i know.0 -
