    Good morning everyone :)

Decorations down, rooms cleaned, furniture shuffled around.

Not sure what DS's have done to the desktop/printer, as nothing printing, so no Welch's juice for me :(.... will have to get it sorted, cannot possibly be couponless!

Snap-ant, sure your friend would have been with you looking at the ads, and smiling over your shoulder!.

Bubbs, surely the 11 month residency is applied to all caravan parks? So, if you opt to live there, you have to be willing to take the month away from the site!

To all those who've got DD/Ds's going back to, or gone back to, uni, Easter is soon here, 10 weeks or so before they're home again :D

Have a very good day one and all.

Are people getting more than one per address or just sending them to friends?

My tesco shopping and wombling days are over...

whilst out walking my dog yesterday i collapesed and had a seizure bit a huge bit of clean of my tounge, bruised face, black eye, wet myself (dont laugh) the only thing i remember is waking up in an ambulance 1/2 hour later. blood tests all ok..they say they think ive had an epileptic fit..therefore i can longer drive for at least a year...

im the only one that can drive as im already a carer for my wife..

we live in a small village..only a couple of shops no tesco..

everything is going to change now i have no car. cant go to tesco. cant go on either of the 2 holidays we have booked.

so on monday ive got to go to the GP and arrange brain scans and EEG's. and then hope for the best that it was just a 1 off, but either way its looks like i will lose my licence..

my dog is perfectly fine apparantly he just sat by my side gaurding me when i was on the floor fitting..he wouldnt let anyone near me until it was someone he knew (luckily because of him everyone talks to you when you have a dog)
i couldNT ask for a more loyal friend and protector..

ive got so many questions to ask.what, if, when etc.

Good morning all. So much for yesterdays good intentions! Playing catch up on housework etc today. Planning a nice roast with a big piece of leg of pork, whoopsied of course. It has given me some freezer space, so a whoopsie shop is on the cards for later. I spent ages yesterday looking for a cheap hotel and airport lounge deal for when we go on holiday. Very pleased with the result. Will be looking for a car hire deal now.
If I have time later I will post a couple of photos that DH took while out and about yesterday.
Hope you are all well, and hugs to the poorlies and those in need. So nice that our thread is so supportive and caring. See you later.

Epic post alert. No need to read or reply:D just getting a matter off my chest.

Been quiet for the last couple of days because I had a dilemma. My dear dad who died just nearly 4 years ago owned a holiday home in France. He spent almost half of the year there after he retired and divorced my mother and he loved it dearly. When he died I inherited it. I went there about a month after he died but it was a bit soon for me to decide what to do with it so I pretty much mothballed the place. He was friendly with a local man who agreed to 'care take' the place for me. I paid him twice year ever since in return for him sorting out a few minor maintenance issues, having the gardens done and passing on mail etc.

I have pretty much buried my head in the sand about the place after that. I had hoped back then we may grow to love it as our holiday home in years to come? maybe. But as my Oh wont leave the house, never mind board a plane that's unlikely:(. Anyway, I had a letter from dads caretaker friends daughter to tell me he had passed away:( so I now have no choice but to face up to it and sort it out.

I have a colleague who has a friend who deals in property on the continent and I have been in touch with him. My choices are basically....keep it and pay someone to maintain it. Rent it out as a holiday let ( Im not keen on that), or sell it. So I've spent all night looking for flights and am going there on Thursday next week. I will attend the funeral of my dads friend, have a good look at the place and decide what I want to do.

I feel very heavy hearted about it. I think once I deal with it my last ties with my dad will be gone:(....that makes me feel very sad. But if I think about it practically we have been living off a diminishing amount if savings fir 6 months and whatever I decide, this could be a source of income

Sorry for a long post. My OH just looks at me with a blank face when I try to discuss with him.....he has lost track of what's what financially:o

I think maybe its time to let the place go, take loads of photos & maybe a video & bring back any special reminders of your Dad ornaments, bits of furniture, keeping it wont bring him back sadly, as you said you dont go there, time for your Dad to help you financially now, maybe the daughter of the caretaker would know someone who may want to buy it

I love what QPR says about its time for your Dad to take care of you financially.I lost my Dad too and I know that if it was me he'd be shouting down from up there"Just do it";)Whether you sell it or rent, I'm sure he'd want you to benefit from it financially.I understand how you feel and my Dad used to make furniture and it took me a long time to decide to change it all (And Nannylala with hers) As we were holding on to it for sentimental reasons:(But we both realised that if my Dad had been here now he would have made us new stuff and we would never have held onto the old stuff for so long. We have both kept identical bureaus that he made but the rest we have let go now:)I'm a great believer in everything we own connects to us somehow and some stuff "clutters" us up with emotional baggage:(So when we decide to let go we free ourselves a bit:)Your Dad enjoyed being there so much, so rent it or sell it and let someone else enjoy it too:)That way you will also have the financial benefit which I'm sure he would have loved.Sorry for the long post but I hope you get what I mean:o

What a horrible experience. Hope they can get to the bottom of the
problem and that you can look forward. :)
On the shopping front check out home deliveries from Sada and T's
as you can get the apg and pp from those.
Take some time for yourself and your wife and maybe things will improve. :A

Sorry to hear about this problem for you, and coming so suddenly, it'll take take time to adjust to, and hopefully only a temporary driving ban. Go for all the tests you can, and hopefully you'll have some definitive answers soon.

A period of adaption, but take it as a challenge, and make it your purpose to find all the things that will help you. There will be ways to get other transport, or public transport, buy things online etc, home deliveries.

There may be local support/networks that will help you.

First things first though, Dr's tomorrow for you, and push for quick referrals scans etc.

And to your little dog, :T:T for being the best :)
