before you joined us about 12-14 months ago people on another mse thread were calling us ' elete ' tramps and trampets. we took it on the chin though and may have even called on of our threads that lol

I find it very amusing that people call us names without knowing our circumstances. Little do they know when shopping like this becomes an Olympic sport we will be at the top of our game. Also due to the way we shop we are keeping our brains very active. :rotfl:
Mortgage debt 45,000. Thank you all for your help so far in helping me save to buy the house. I could not have done this without all your help.

  • Evening all and a very happy and healthy new year to you all

Been on a whoopsie run today to Mr T - no asda here sadly

Anyway as well as whoopsies , on the normal shelves they were selling everyday breakfast juice for 31p and Sunsip apple juice for 38p both 1 litre.
Not as good as the Assanti 13p stuff but still a good price I thought and there is only so much tropical juice I can drink!!

We are many we are one xxx

So that every single post that I contribute to this thread is on topic I would just like to say I am an elite 11+ member and I hear the unjust silence of my opinions whilst I am shopping in supermarkets mainly. Just sayin.

Would love to show you that but no morries comparison avail on Ni receipts.:(

Thanks, well done on the amount for the lamb, they bought a lot didn't they and made the S comparable amount large enough to give you an extra-large 10%!!:T:j
Sorry I forgot you don't get M comparisons, we're lucky here on the other side of the water and me (and prob. you as well) shuddering to think how many of those 22 receipts would have given you APGs on the basis of M being cheaper if you lived over here. I hope the large amount on the lamb gives some recompense.

Also, don't think it's well-known but I think there's a weight limit of 10kg on items sold by weight. Like only the first 10 of the same item compared, only max. 10kg - obviously very heavy products - so anyone copying it, don't go overboard!! (Or if you do, check the T&Cs first.)

Even though of us with an M's nearby, it's not all plain sailing! I don't seem ever to be able to find the boneless lamb shoulder there that's always on reduction!! Perhaps it sells out within the first hour of opening and I'm just not getting there at the right time.

As everyone will now have gathered, I'm back from M (arrived back quite some time ago). I did what no-one ever does - walked down every aisle - and I'm now ready for the TV quiz Mastermind on the subject and now able to answer any question whatsoever from everyone about M prices this week!!:rotfl::):T

But don't all ask at the same time.:(

I spent quite enough time in the aisle in front of some JF products though, so hopefully I am now well-prepared for anything.:D:)

I didn't see any crunchy nut cornflakes on half price (although I suspect most people here have got enough cereal already). But I did see someone pick up a small pack of Coco Pops at £2.68.

Someone from M's must have been reading my earlier posts: it seems they've listened to me about the conference pears packs as, this week, they are no longer 600g but now around 700g.

On one week, when I happened to visit two different M's stores on different days, they had some type of apples that, in one store, had X number of apples in the packs but, in the other, the same type of apples, there was one fewer apple per pack, yet the price (£1) was the same in both stores.

I suspect almost no-one weighs packs of fruit, yet it seems every week the size of packs changes. Also this week they now have the price printed on the fish fillets packs and the SEL says "Priced" whereas last time the same price was on the SEL itself. Subtle little changes and tiny variations in packs from one week to the next, just to see if you're paying attention!!:rotfl:

The fresh mini chicken fillets were another example - one week they bought in a new size and the next week it was gone.

Sometimes I'm drawn to the little things that annoy a little bit more instead of the larger fish I should be frying. I can now confirm (exc. NI) the M Savers Cornflakes packs are still 31p. The equivalents in S and T have increased in price to 35p, a 4p difference but one that waves a bit of a red rag in the air! So for anyone who likes T Eday Value Cornflakes but wishes to try to get a voucher refund from T back to the old T price, they are a T v M comparison - wishing you luck in T picking up the M price.

You need minimum 6 other different items and a bag re-use, so here's a suggestion (starting tonight):

    T Eday Value Malt Loaf T 28p M 28p
    Cuticura Cucumber Hygiene Gel 100ml T £1.50 M 84p
    Rustlers The Quarter Pounder 190g T £2.00 M £1.00
    T Cox Apples Bag T £1.50 M £1.00
    Honey Monster Sugar Puffs 625g T £2.98 M £1.49
    Hartley No Bits Strawberry Jam 454g T £1.49* M 74p
    (...that's enough + don't forget your Eday Value Cornflakes 500g T 35p M 31p)
    Hartley No Bits Blackcurrant Jam 454g T £1.49* M 74p
    Trebor Extra Strong Mints Peppermint (4) T £1.00 M 79p
    Rustlers The Chicken Sandwich 150g T £2.00 M £1.00
    T Red Plums (punnet) T £1.00 M £1.00
    T Eday Value apples T 82p M 82p

NB Cox apples bag at M are approx. 700g or 800g. Possible that T's will compare even if their bags are larger - do not buy Cox Apples in T if they are smaller in T than M.
M's Plums (red) punnet are around 10 or 11 plums and weight of 500g. Risk if T is more, as might not compare.

I wouldn't bother with the Eday value apples as they are same price. The Eday Malt Loaf is a quite cheap filler though.

There's no slight against T in all this - but if they have a PP, hold them to it and make sure it doesn't become a broken promise.
I will leave you all a puzzle (as if I don't leave you enough of one anyway!!:rotfl:)
and someone can work out the cheapest purchase of 7 of the above items that gets the biggest amount on the PP. (Obviously the Rustlers Sandwich 150g are demoted as the 190g are better price per g.):)

Rule: There must be one purchase of the Eday Value Cornflakes as one of your 7 items (and the bag reuse).
Also useful for those who have a T near them but not an M (and sorry this excludes N Ireland).
See you later... that's about all I've managed T v M (and none of the items should compare from M to A, so you couldn't get 10% cheaper through the APG).:T

*Looks like there might be a price change in T on the Hartley's No Bits jams, as current offer on T.com ends 2/1/13 but no updated details on there yet. If old SEL of £1.00 is on in your store, could be a DTD as well as a PP???
