davemorton - Have a wonderful time away :)

    Thanks 3Dogs :Axxx

Auntycaz and SpiralingDown - Thank you so much lovelies. We'll see, I've found it incredibly hard to keep up today so it's safer to dip in and out but I'm not very good at that, I always want to read everything! This year, especially the last few months have been absolutely awful, I'm not sleeping and am losing my memory through stress :( Also I've been in the most pain I ever have with my joints :( I felt like I'd already been through the wringer but the last few months have been the most physically and emotionally challenging of my life..... Oh look there I go moan moan moan..... To top it off I was betrayed by people who I thought were friends. Such is life, some people just aren't satisfied unless they're belittling others to inflate their own egos and I'm certainly not gonna sit around and cry about them :D:D:D

I'm not by any means asking for sympathy, just hoping an explanation might make you go a bit easy on me with keeping up ;):o:o:o I'm a slow reader at the best of times! :o

I must turn in, hubby has an op tomorrow, needs early brekkie etc..........terrible trouble with work, they only let me have one day and hospital made me sign that I would not leave him alone for 24 hours after discharge.
You'd have thought I worked for some back street sweat shop, not a major high street bank.:(
They had the cheek to say they were too busy, well don't worry about somebodys life!!!!!!

    I hope all goes well.
Some employers are slave drivers, when I worked in a stationers we got a new manager fresh out of their trainee manager scheme. He done everything by the book, no matter how many times I told him that it wasn't the way our store had ever done it he wouldn't listen.

One of our older members of staff's BIL had died so I sent her home, as anyone else would have done. She came in the next day and I told her to go home, I even phoned her husband to tell him not to let her come back until after the funeral but she needed to be doing something as the men of the family were sorting everything out so I said she could only come in if she felt like it. The day before the funeral was my day off so our 'beloved and exalted' leader was in, she told him that she'd be off the next day for the funeral and that I'd sorted someone out to cover her shift but she'd be back the day after as usual. He had the cheek to ask her what time was it at and couldn't she just take the afternoon off
I got a call from the senior sales assistant below me telling me all this and I went mental! I rang him and gave him what for, asked him how he would feel if it was his mother that someone had done that too and he just said he wouldn't change his mind. I went above him and called our area manager, told him what had happened so he got involved, told the manager that it wasn't on and rang the lady to tell her to take a much time as she needed :T

    He made many other mistakes.
I was the supervisor and had been in charge of orders since I'd started at 16. I knew that many of our orders were huge because I ordered for the entire company as we were classed as a coffee shop so got tax breaks or VAT back or something like that. He decided that a few of the orders could be scaled back to ONLY what WE would sell  so rang the companies to change them but failed to tell anyone until I got a call from one supplier asking why the order had been reduced. I went ballistic trying to find who had changed it while also ringing other suppliers to confirm the orders hadn't been changed only to be told that the 'new' manager had realised the mistake in the orders so had rang to correct them. The manager had been asked but he denied all knowledge.
I had to get the area manager and HR involved because he threatened to sack me for my incompetence  the area manager told him that if the mistake hadn't been discovered so quickly it would have been him being sacked because those orders he'd changed were for valentines day and Easter chocs so could have destroyed the business. That put him down a peg or two as he never messed with my way of doing things again, even now he's afraid of me :rotfl: I did get his job soon after this :D
I must also mention that we were both 18 when this happened and I'd never worked with such a self riteous, self serving person before or since. Most of the managers and supervisors in the company were fantastic, if you done something wrong you were pulled up about it but never in an arrogant manner, if you done something right you were praised. We were all given a department to look after and had incentive schemes for increasing profit within your department each year with some great prizes to be won. We had training sessions were you got great freebies from the company who was showing off new product ranges, along with nice lunches. We all had great job satisfaction and felt valued by our bosses and the company owners. Most of all we worked as a team and each employee had fun!
I think sometimes this is the problem with many SAs, they get grief frm their superiors regardless of what they do, they sometimes get it from customers so even when you do go to them with a genuine problem they're waiting for the nastiness so go into full defence mode which is wrong. I see such a difference between then and now and think it's all went to pot but then again they don't value the good workers anymore, they seem to be overlooked and it's the ones that they have to cajole into doing things like extra hours that get the praise when those who always dowhat's asked of them are treated like dirt by management
Sorry went into full on rant mode :o

Not much more I can say, it's times like this that you realise who your true friends are and who you can rely on and who's just a waste of oxygen.
Don't forget to rant a bit on here, even if no one takes much notice it'll help you feel a wee bit better and maybe feel less stressful.
