Can she get a credit card??

My sister is travelling in Canada for a few months. She has a job here but is leaving at the end of may. She has never had a credit card, she will be working over there, but not sure how regular the income will be. Will she be able to get a credit card??? We want her to have one more so we know she can afford to eat (although more likely drinking!), would she be best to get an additional card from another family members account???

Basford must have had a bad day lynsiloo, I would just ignore his reply. Myself I think she should try applying in her own right but also ask to be an additional card holder on a willing family members account. She does not have a lot of time for either sugestion tho' so act now.

Remember the Nationwide card has no loading fees for use abroad. Will she have internet access to pay the card off from her account that's holding her money.
