Getting fed up with buying online.. Orders not arriving, left on doorsteps, in bins or cancelled then the long fight to get your money back begins!
Instore for me from now.. Might visit Boots tomorrow.. That's about it0 -
Mulberry - awful. Prices increased then reduced for the sale so not anywhere near what they seem.
Selfridges - some brilliant half price things if I'd only been quick enough. Bodes well for tomorrow morning.0 -
Okay here's what I think so far of the sales (compared to last year)I am looking for bargains for little girl who is 2:
M&S-not impressed not as many girls partyware to choose from
BHS-ditto (as above)
Boots-I was looking forward to the half price fragrances. Last year I got lots of clothes bargains for LO this year: a dress, jeans and hat. Not impressed compared to last year.
Matalan-logged on but all sizes required for LO gone-assume during VIP sale? Stuff looked good?
Asda-liked the variety (not as much as last year IMHO) however again sizes were not available
Disney Store-not sure when the sale went live but the stuff I wanted is OOS.
Next-not impressed with range
Tesco-all the same stuff in the sale as it was last week
The Works-all the books I was interested in are OOS-not sure when the sale started?
Amazon-picked up six cookery books at at least 50% off which I was after so not too bad.
Perfume Shop-yay! Half price sets (on selected fragrances). Got a MJ set. Thank you to the person who posted about this previously.
Mothercare-same stuff as was in the sale before Christmas?
ELC-same as above.
Argos-reserved a set of lights. Can't see anything worth shouting about though.
I'm hoping that the Tu sale will throw up some bargains. Will be visiting a few stores in person to see if I can pick up bargains for little one (whose 2). Was hoping to pick up some unisex bits too but don't think this will happen as haven't seen anything around in the sales (yet).
Maybe I am misjudging the stores but this year's sales feel like the stores are simply clearing out stuff that doesn't sell whereas last year there were bargains to be had. Just my opinion folks___________________________________________

For me all the best buys were had before Christmas.
I have been on a rather large shopping spree for home essentials that desperately needed replacing and couldn't wait for the sales after Christmas
I bought new sony laptop
AEG vacuum cleaner
Panasonic home phone trio
soft furnishings /cushions throws, curtains
contempory xmas tree
new boots & coat
All the items were at the best price before Christmas during promotions & voucher codes for online purchases.
Stores include currys, john lewis, laura Ashley, my wardrobe.com
all of which have started their boxing day sales.
So Im pleased I didn't wait for further reductions as they are non existant.
Even the Christmas tree is still in stock at john lewis and not reduced.0 -
Am I the only one who doesn't get excited by January Sales? I have already spent money buying Christmas presents, don't really want to get into even more debt!
I view articles in the newspapers of people fighting over cut price perfume with utter disbelief. Boxing Day for me is about spending time with my family, not fighting my way around shops that for me are about 60 miles away anyhow.
I don't need the latest clothes, I got a lot of things I needed as Xmas presents anyhow. I had a look at some of the online sales, but nothing on my Amazon wishlist is in the sales, I haven't eaten half the chocolate I was given so the fact that Hotel Chocolat have 50% off leaves me cold, Boots sale is mainly toiletries which I don't really need right now and Bodyshop sale great, but I only really buy bodybutter which they have sales on through the year anyhow.
H&M had a brilliant pre-Christmas sale with up to 70% off with some terrific online bargains which enabled me to buy some great stuff for DD as Xmas presents, also got some great bargains on eBay.
If I need it and it's on sale at that time then great. But I don't see the point of buying stuff in January which I don't really need merely because it is cheap.

went into my local high street this morning expecting to have to brave the hoardes of sale shoppers - it was very quiet. Although the poor weather and the fact that some shops were closed probably helped that.
HMV's sale was awful, same prices for most items as last week from what I could see (the Toy Story complete DVD boxset with labels claiming it was reduced from £45 to £12 when I know it has been £12 in store for at least the last few weeks).
Argos' sale was very similar, a few discounts on specific items such as bedroom furniture, but could see very little to be excited about otherwise."Why, this is hell, nor am I out of it."0 -
The retailer which looked to be having the most footfalls was Next IMHO... decent stuff as well...0

I went into our local high street today and was very disappointed - visited B&Q, Currys, M&S, Dorothy Perkins, Game, Next, Monsoon and HMV - and I do think there were better (or at least equal) deals to be had before Christmas in a lot of cases. I got some things with my Next VIP slot online but there wasn't much worth having in store. The only things we bought were the Olympics DVD and Jurassic Park trilogy blu ray in HMV which came to £17.99 as all box sets were BOGOHP... And we had gift cards anyway.0

Agree with Underin, my mate braved Next this morning and saved £150 on home stuff she was buying anyway, so sounds like actual bargains there, everything else looks a bit pants...June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

You're not the only one fallen. I'm exactly the same. The sales are mostly disappointing anyway.
I've never seen the point in rushing to the sales, especially now that they're on all year round.0
