Hi all, looking for a bit of advice.
On Sat my 18 year old daughter was driving home when she was rear-ended, taken out of her car, thrown in a ditch and then had her car stolen.
Whist we have notified the ins company we are undecided about putting a claim in as it may not be financially benefical. I was then told by someone that she should not be penalised by her ins going up as she is a victim of crime.
I have never heard of this before and have thrawlled the internet and cannot find info either. Just wondering if anyone here has heard of this and if so could they point me in the direction of where to look.
Thanks in advance

She shouldn't but she will.
Even having the incident on record will affect her premium, Especially so being young.
So making a claim may not actually make any future premiums any worse.
It will need to be disclosed whether you claim or not. Usually needs to be disclosed for 5 years.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
The incident will go on her record and have to be disclosed to any other companies she goes to for quotes over the next 3 to 5 years (depending on how long a history they ask for).
She can do dummy quotes now on line with and without this incident in her history to see what difference it makes to her premium.
If she claims, then her NCD will be lost for this year (and if she had any at the start of the year that will be lost too). She also will have to pay her excess.
She could also do dummy quotes on line with and without the NCD to see what that does to the premiums too.0
