Syncing With a Nexus 7 - Solved

With iOS devices (Iphones, Ipads, Ipods) we may typically use Itunes to sync with them. (Music, films, dropping books into the Kindle app, etc.)
What do people recommend using to do likewise with a Nexus 7?
I've seen DoubleTwist suggested (when doing a Google). And I know I can simply drop music and films into the Music and Movies folders of the Nexus, but there is no Books folder in which to drop Kindle books.
Thanks for any thoughts and advice.

With my Nexus 7 I just drag and drop - I find it easy.
I have Kindle on the tablet for the few kindle ebooks I have bought, but for all my epubs I use Aldiko. (there are plenty others on Google Play)
I just create a folder called ebooks and the app automatically scans and imports them.I shot a vein in my neck and coughed up a Quaalude.

Where does the Kindle app store the books? With my Ipod I drop them into Kindle app via Itunes, but you don't see them when you Explore the Ipod from a PC. With the Nexus 7 I see folders for Music and Movies but not for Books.
The Nexus is a Xmas pressy for the missus, who is quite a technophobe, so I want to try and keep things as simple as possible.
Aldiko looks like a decent alternative though, so thanks for the pointer.

Not sure where it stores them, but you can just create a folder called books or whatever and place your files in there..then open the ereader app and import them.
The Kobo app also lets me import my own epubs, but I don't find it quite as good an ereader as Aldiko - not sure if Kindle will let you import your own mobi files.I shot a vein in my neck and coughed up a Quaalude.

Don't think you can just create a folder and simply drag and drop or copy and paste books for the Kindle app.
If you have kindle on the PC, think you have to use the management tools within that to transfer to nexus. Amazon don't like people simply copying and paste there books.Mansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0 -
Kindle on the PC? Nope.
Kindle app on Ipod - use Itunes to drop mobi files into the Kindle app.
Kindle app on Nexus 7 = ???? ... that's the thrust of my question. Are you saying the Kindle For PC app will allow me to drop mobi files into the Nexus 7 Kindle app? (I can't see how to add a device to the PC app to allow synching).0 -
With android you can store your media anywhere on the SDCard and the device will find it. Just stick it all in one folder and let the device sort it out ^_^
*note*
If you see an empty file called ".nomedia" it's there to tell the android not to scan this folder for any playable mediaLaters

Just to close this out ... when I started the Nexus today and connected it to the PC there was a Kindle folder on it. Copying MOBI files to that folder make them visible in the Kindle app, so issue resolved.
