incapacity benefit changes

Hi my boyfriend has crohns disease and has had most of his intestines removed and he was diagnosed with ankalosing spondilytis (a deteriorating back condition) last october. He has been on incapacity benefit for 20 years and has been on dla for about a year. He has had a letter telling him he has to go for a medical to see if he can work. He would be unable to work as he can't do manual labour, can't stand or sit for long periods of time because of his back pain and hasn't worked for 20 years because of his crohns. Would he stay on incapacity benefit or would it be changed? Thanks for your advice

He sounds like a prime catch of a boyfriend. Call me cynical but as a new member here why would you be asking these questions when he couldn't do so himself?Hi my boyfriend has crohns disease and has had most of his intestines removed and he was diagnosed with ankalosing spondilytis (a deteriorating back condition) last october. Hi OP,
it sounds as if his main problem is Crohn's - Crohn's and Colitis UK is probably the most useful source of information.

This is dated 2005 (so not specifically ESA advice) but page 14 especially should be helpful

You're full of the Christmas Spirit aren't you.
Are you saying that just 'cos the guy is ill he doesn't deserve to meet a partner who'll care for him and help him out.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

What if she got with him prior to 20 years ago? Him been fine and well?
You want her to chuck him in the gutter? I bet your all alone in leeds aint you? Thinking how life is so good for you been alone on this fine xmas.
Then you get reiled up because a poorly man has bagged himself a loving girlfriend whilst you can't even get a blind one to see past your utter bs.0 -
