However, would the labels have been taken off if the dress was altered?

    HIya,
I tried 52 wedding dresses on (no i am not telling porkies). and many of them were different maggie dresses! which all had tags/labels inside.
My chosen dress was a maggie and it had to be altered and the shop did not remove the tags to do this.
I still think your best bet is to contact maggie sottero, or like someone else said write a letter to the shop.

let us know how you get on

Did you pay full price LeanneF?

No I didn't. And in fact in terms of your story I'd be more angry that they didn't offer you a discount rather than the absence of the labels, but unfortunately thats the one thing you can't change. My dress was reduced from £1,700 to 75 quid! I paid £95 to get it cleaned and probably around £100 in alterations.

Myself, I think it's unlikely you've got a fake. Why would they go to the trouble of making up a whole fake dress & not bother putting in a label?

Also, like BS says, I don't think this will affect the resale value too much (which seem to be only 10% of the original price), particularly if it's a popular design and average size.
