ChrissyG - ebay are putting in MORE fees? I already don't bother with selling any more, because by the time you take into account the fees, paypal fees and the cost of postage now it isn't worth it. Costs more for the packaging and petrol to the post office. I'd rather just give things to the charity shop and let them have the money. It's a shame, another thing wasted by greed.

I'm looking for some ideas - I bought these mugs with the thought of making them into Snowman Soup gifts but they are TINY (the size of an expresso mug. I was expecting them to be smaller than a normal mug obviously, but the right size for a child - not doll sized!) I've complained to Baker Ross about the inaccurate picture but doubt they'll do anything and it will cost me to send them back. What can I do with them do you think, they are too small for choc mix etc? Do you think I could just fill with christmas sweeties and cello wrap?

Oh those cups are adorable! how about putting a mini chocolate mini muffin with icing and a mini candy cane on top inside them? Infact i might order some too!
Susan, I'm a regular and often lurk - don't feel you have to post everyday or even keep up with the thread - welcome aboard :)

I am after some advice - after a terrible craft fair yesterday (£4 in sales) I am beginning to think that I need to branch out on what I sell. I have whipped up an apron and would like to know if it is something you think people would buy and how much would be a good price?

It is a half circle skirt design and pleated at the front so nice and poofy in a 50s style

Please be brutally honest - I would like some honest feedback as don't want to buy the materials and make them if they look too basic :)
Love love 50's style clothing. a christmas/winter themed one would be brilliant and kiddie sized ones too.. not a clue on price though sorry'!

I will of course share the skirts - have bought a beautiful flamingo fabric that I need to be good an not steal for myself ;) (although maybe I should whip up a skirt to wear at craft fairs!)

I have a dilemma - my cousin is usually kind enough to help me with craft fairs and she brings her 19 YOD. Typically the bit I need them for is the actual set up and they can never arrive for the whole of that bit and then the rest of the day is spent gossiping. Well last Saturday was a terrible fair and it wasn't helped by the fact that my cousin and I were exchanging barbed 'jokes'. I thought she had come to terms with us re-locating next year, but now I'm not so sure. Factor in the cold and the stress and I was returning the barbs rather than letting them go.

Even when we were chatting amicably I was fully aware that having 3 people crammed inside a tiny gazebo doesn't look too professional. Add in the bickering and it was a recipe for disaster. I have a huge craft fair coming up over bank holiday weekend - it's 2 days and has cost £45 for me to sell at! She asked if I needed help at the beginning of last Saturdays fair and I jumped at the chance. Now after everything that took place I'm regretting it.

Even if I remain professional and distance myself from the two of them, their chatting and loud joking may not go down well with everyone. I don't know what to do :( Add in the fact that they have cancelled lunch at ours on Saturday (kids are germphobes and one of the dogs decided to get over excited at wee on her eldests lap - I think this is the reason) and she will think it is tit for tat!

Argh I love her dearly and even with our barbs I know she means well and is only worried but now I'm in melt down over the craft fair :( I know if I took some knitting or something along it would look much better than the three of us stood around talking - it's really hard to not look bored or caught up in your conversation when there are three of you there!

Could you ask the cousin and niece to also be seen 'crafting'? crochet or cross stitch or hand sewing? say you are trying to get the punters involved, ready to ask questions about the activity, to drum up more trade? if their hands are busy their tongues may get a rest?
Will be taking dgs to his swimming lesson in 15 mins, hope it goes better than yesterdays.
Went to see my new great-niece yesterday, gorgeous and cuddlesome. Great nephew was adorable as usual, full of chat and imagination, a real treat. Off now, back soon, xx

    Help needed.
Is Designabear Cool Dudes still girly ?

It is all in the sale in Argos, and I was going to get 2 monsters and accessories for Robbie. I know he is too young but they are not doing them anymore so would need to get them now.
But is dressing up a monster in clothes a boy thing ?

Because ds has asd he did nothing like that as he had little imagination.

I have reserved it all in our local store but am now having second thoughts.
  • I bought the blue monster for DS2 and it is gorgeous. He actually loves it - although he is only 4 months old. Haven't bought any clothes for it though. DS1 (3) has a build a bear that I bought him in a football kit but he doesn't dress or undress it.

Don't know if this actually helps.

    Football strip
    Pjs
    Martial arts outfit
    Dragon top and jeans

    It's comes to £42

But as you say do boys dress up teddys.
I wasn't expecting him to sit and play dress up, but thought he might get them dressed when he gets dressed.
