MRS MONEYPENNY - Only 140 days, I can't believe how quickly this year is going!
I went to Ikea last night with £4 burning a hole in my pocket (:o) and I found these boxes at 2 for £1.90 (95p each) http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/70224290/
I'm doing some retro sweet hampers for my brother and B-I-L this year, and they're the perfect size, easy to wrap and reusable. Just a heads up if anyone is doing something similar!0 -
Sorry to hear about the break in OMO, I really hate hearing things like this -why can't they go out and earn an honest living like the rest of us?! Glad to hear your son was able to put it behind him quickly. I hope your selling goes well on ebay!
Hello Lina T, Krustylouise and PinkFluffyCloud! :hello: Welcome!
Feisty it's completely understandable that you and DH are a bit strained at the moment, you are both having to cope with so much. It sounds like you're both doing an amazing job with it all and hopefully you will both come out of the experience stronger.
MrsChristmas, how about cinema vouchers for the teenage boy? They could be packaged with some popcorn and sweets.
kayandy congrats for your sisters pregnancy! How exciting. I too am really excited about Christmas! Sounds like you've got some good ideas for pressies.
04624181 glad to hear you are slowly on the mend, I hope you make a full recovery and your back stops giving you jip!
Ameyturtle I hope you're feeling better today?
Thanks for the update on the Christmas countdown mrs-moneypenny. I've been telling everyone that as it's August now Christmas things are starting to creep into the shops, I of course am very excited about this but I think everyone else hates me! :rotfl:0 -
Ameyturtle wrote: »Mum's decided she doesn't want an advent calender this year so am going to make her a december hamper instead. apparently this years theme is quality over quantity so will pop in coffee, chocolate covered coffee beans, a new cafetiere, obviously some lush bits from the new christmas line when it comes out probably some new pjs too, but i can't really think of anything else.
I've been feeling really rough today i just can't describe it, it's like I'm all faint and food feels like it's sitting on my chest, so just an icky feeling.
Since I read your post Amey all last night all I could smell in my mind was lush and coffee - my two favourite smells! Your mums gift sounds lovely!
KayAndy - you sound very excited!
Always read even if cant always post but has trendyjenny posted lately? Hope she's ok.
Bought our panto tickets Saturday :d !!!!!! Whittington, I've never seen it before so have ordered a book off Amazon so we know the story before we go! (Will put the tickets in the book and wrap the book up!)
Will soon be time for the shops to put out their xmas stock, usually when the kids are back to school, this is very unfortunate though as this usually means Cadburys Christmas Elves chocolate - my favourite! Though I no longer live right by tesco so my waistline *may* be saved! :rotfl:Spreading a little Christmas joy all year round :santa2:0 -
haha ALJA go on ... you know it will get you in the christmas spirit xx
Am still sat here looking at bits and bats to buy. Does anybody on here do the santa elves? Well on the clearance section at argos there is a designabear cold dudes pop up tent for £2.99. Its a little tent that your elf could sleep in x
On that note, how old were your kids when you started the christmas elf? My daughter was 3 in may. Have got an elf like doll that just needs xmassing up and got the special elf pack off an ebay seller with the elf passport etc in but not sure if I should wait until next year?
Hi, I think my daughter was 3 and that was a very tame year elf activity wise, he just moved around and bought occasional treats. Nia will be 7 this year at xmas & he just gets more and more mischievous each year!!Spreading a little Christmas joy all year round :santa2:0 -
Thanks for the post noodles. am still debating whether to do it this year, maybe a tame version of it sounds good, just to introduce her to it.

My son bought his nephew (my grandson) aged 6 "The Dinosaur That Pooped Christmas" by Tom Fletcher & Dougie Poynter(from McFly) .
Grandson thought it was hilarious, as would most little boys I think knowing how they giggle at bodily functions..:o
A boy is given an enormous egg for Christmas and it hatches into a dinosaur who then proceeds to eat everything and everyone in the house, including Santa and his sleigh! The dinosaur then feels guilty and poops out everything  which is then cleaned and put back in place again so Christmas is saved.
Pretty disgusting but I've never heard my grandson laugh so much. :rotfl:
