I think a trip to London will be amazingThere is so much to do there! The only thing that would worry me is the cost, we have ended up paying out over £100 on a 'free' trip to the Natural History Museum before
Many people comment it is far cheaper to go abroad, but I understand this perhaps isn't possible for most (I don't even own a passport
) and I think it is wonderful to see holiday money staying within the UK - a definite boost to the economy
fatblackandwhite looking forward to working with you
Thank you all for your lovely comments, now if only I could magic up some sun to take the official shop photo's
OMG how did a free trip cost you £100 ? That Is terrible .
Still in phone at moment. But will post my money saving day trips when I get laptop back. That's if I ever get it back .:rotfl:
I use Tesco points, 241 offers and pre booked tickets. The main reason we are going this year is that dd will not be 16 until July, so by going in June she is classed as a child, and will get in cheaper to most things.0 -
I've been living here since 1999 (I was 19) when I moved in with my now hubby. We've really tried to make a point of doing things in London. Touristy things and more hidden gems. Always look for 241 vouchers or offers. We go to the theatre fairly often, a few weeks ago I went to the V&A museum, we go on lots of boat trips down the Thames. My brother has just bought us a Christmas present (I know!) of a book we wanted. London's hidden secrets volume 2. More places to explore!
Think we go into London more often than I do Ilford & that's only a mile or two away. I'd recommend the DUCK tours which leave from by the London eye if you have the time/money. Couldn't find a voucher for that one, but it was great fun.
I have a 'rainy day' pot which my mum brought for us in America. I think it's supposed to be for putting money in, but I thought we'd write suggestions of places to go and when we have a free day & want to do something different, we could select one and plan to go there. Still would like to go to Kew gardens at some point. And explore around Greenwich more.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

OMO-We were around Putney and Waterloo, not sure if they're in the congestion charging zone but it was after 6pm so nothing to worry about there.
I would have just carried on and seen the sights but OH wasnt up for that funnily enough. :rotfl:
FeistyFidget-I know what you mean about a trip to The Natural History museum ending up not being free! I was actually looking yesterday and its nearly £26 for our travelcard plus drinks, packed lunch bits etc! Was thinking of going this week with DS, OH is at work so would only be £13 for travelcard..Why cant public transport be free tut.
I have found myself staying in more than usual lately, the psoriasis has been really bad on my face. Im covered in it and have been feeling very self conscious. Its easy to say oh dont worry about people staring but when they are blatantly staring, laughing and whispering (as happened in Primark the other day!) its hard. Should be used to it after 18 years...:o I dont actually care about it anywhere else and dont cover it up or anything but my face is a big red flaky blotchy mess and its horrid. Sorry moan over!'They only had one cow!'0 -
Ruth_honey, Have you been on the Emirates Air Line yet ? I am quiet looking forward to doing that .0

Yes we do and a lead that goes on a belt round your waist!!! He was really good until he saw another dog that he wanted to get to (he is always on a lead, huskies are well known to just run and run and run off, never to be found again or get run over) and i was trying to pull him back, i am a hefty girl to say the least and he nearly had me over :rotfl::rotfl:i cant believe how strong they are!! Although this afternoon my shoulder has started to calm down a bit and i have been 'flying' so thats a good thing must be all the painkillers.#103 1p Saving Challenge Back to Front 293.94/665.95Currently Reading: Christmas at Cedarwood Lodge - Rebecca Raisin Debt Free thanks to MSE0 -

That is absolutely awful, people are so callous and vicious, i am so sorry people make you feel like that, sending you lots of hugs, we live in such a horrible world, i wish people were more understanding, no one is perfect although some people actually think they are!!!#103 1p Saving Challenge Back to Front 293.94/665.95Currently Reading: Christmas at Cedarwood Lodge - Rebecca Raisin Debt Free thanks to MSE0 -

Oh sweet I'm so sorryMy Mum had a really bad bout of this just before she got married about 13 years ago. The hospital actually prescribed a special sun bed, it took a lot of treatment but it finally cleared. Is UV treatment an option for you?
OMO the reason our trip turned out so pricey was because of petrol, parking and foodIt was an impromptu trip that we didn't really research

I'm a sufferer too but mainly scalp, hands and feet, but it does flare up in other places. People can be so thoughtless and uncaring. Hoping that you find much kinder people when you are out and about xx0 -
Hi, just been catching up again and hugs all round. DS is seeing physio tomorrow to have his legs measured and see if the treatment has made an improvement.
My dad is still holding on, gravely ill but still with us.
I've been busy sorting legal things for my parents. Think my hand is going to fall off with all the form filling and letter writing.
Picked up some cross stitch at a local shop and got back into it. I use to do a lot but not for years. Already made a paperweight and on my second cushion. May do some for Christmas this year :-)
Anyway, I'm back and missed you all. xxxx0 -

Not yet. Definitely very soon, though. Pretty sure an oyster card gets you a bit of discount on it. Looks great fun.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27
