:rotfl: Guess who forgot the veg!?!? :rotfl:

Realised when we were dishing up that the carrots and parsnip were still in the fridge...oops. :)

I know it's bad form to quote my own post, but I just heard from my mum and she's done the same! Forgot the pigs in blankets (put in cupboard to cool where cats wouldn't get at them!) and Yorkshire puds until almost finished the lunch. We're a right bunch of muppets! My grandma used to do the same. Every year it would be something: cranberry sauce, crackers...:rotfl:

Cat now sleeping off her turkey and we're both still stuffed. Watched Christmas with the Kranks. What to watch next???

Just had text from my brother. The face masks he bought for me are in his car-150 miles away. Just as well I bought some myself too. ;)

    Hello all

Such a good busy day, love it!

Been spoilt but seeing mum mum brother auntie and cousins face was brilliant also my 8 month old goddaughter took her first steps with me, not a fluke as after the initial first steps I done it again and her mum got it on film of her doing 4 steps unaided ! That's a priceless moment!

Every year we forget something too usually bread sauce/ sweetcorn / red cabbage left in the microwave.
This year mum forget to defrost the pigs in blankets :'( one of the best bits :'( no matter she said we can have them tomorrow :D yay x
I hope you know your capable, & brave, & significant.
even when it feels like your not....
  • merry Christmas, what a day, littlies up at 5 30, presents by the ton, I forgot the parsnips, but no-one noticed, so its carrot and parsnip soup tomorrow!. OMO so glad you are back. My SIL is like you also, blocked out all her childhood, she says she only realised that she could stop holding her breath and crossing her fingers when she met us. Her parents were seriously weird and warped.
Bacon rolls sounds like a lovely tradition. ours is/was scrambled eggs and smoked salmon on toast, but,... it is the other thing I forgot! Maybe my amnesia/ ziemers will become our new tradition, I told my DD that I would get her an envelope for her oh dinner carry out, I meant carrier bag, oops.
Littlies all abed, parents upstairs 'chilling' (sleeping it off, I think), so it is the Downton special and a bl**dy big single malt for me.
Thank you again for an amazing year, hope everyone has a lovely time, and an even better 2014.

I didn't get any dinner.. I was too fed up from cooking it and too cross due to the childrens perfect parent.. but I decided today it doesn't matter any more.. the children are told and the non-children are also told.. there are more important things than staying angry.

bath and bed then I'm making jelly and sorting salads for tomorrow when my family descend to exchange presents. I will be glad when it is all done and dusted and put away for another year... a few more days and the tree will be down too!
