Merry Christmas everyone! I haven't been around much as I haven't been well of late, but wanted to come on here to say I hope you all have a lovely time. xx0

:xmastree: MERRY CHRISTMAS :xmastree:
I think I may have beaten my demons.
I started a thread yesterday about not remembering my childhood and there are other posters that don't either. It was very comforting knowing it's not just me that has blanked them out.
At this time of year so many people talk about family traditions, which is hard when you don't have any.
Then this morning dd said ' Well are you going to cook the bacon rolls then I'm starving' . And I realised that's our tradition. Bacon rolls for breakfast. Not much but it's a start. xx0 -

My DS and I are off now for a tour of Center Parcs, Longleat in a horse and carriage ride with Santa, to be followed by a visit to see the singing Christmas tree at Longleat Safari Park
It was a scarey drive up from London yesterday morning, as the wind was buffeting the car quite badly and the spray from the trucks and other cars were creating curtains of water, which made visibility terrible.
And the winds caused chaos with the trees here - we have half a tree just outside our window which had broken off by the strong winds from the tree tops last night! The staff were up early this morning clearing the pathways and roads of falling branches and broken trees.
Oh, I've got that book to read too. I think it was a birthday present and I thought I'll keep it to read closer to Christmas. Then I started reading lots of library books. I'll try and read it soon, though.
That storm wasn't fun, was it? We went into London for the panto on Monday (very good, by the way) and got caught up in it on the way home. No damage to the house, although the recycling bins banged up against the front door in the night. Hope everyone else is ok and no serious damage to cars/homes etc.Own_My_Own wrote: »:xmastree: MERRY CHRISTMAS :xmastree:

We had bacon rolls for breakfast too. Yum yum! In ciabatta bread, so it's posher than normal! We did it last year too, so that's a new tradition started. Tomorrow we are having a BBQ as long as it stays dry outside. Leftovers from today on a pizza! :rotfl: If it goes ok, we'll make that a tradition too. Never too late to start new ones.Happy Birthday Chrissy xxx

Oh that's fab! We are actually going to see that ourselves in February. When are you coming down? Maybe we could grab a quick coffee together if you get chance.
Not had chance to catch up on here for a few days, so MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY!!! Hope you're enjoying your day and getting to relax after all the planning. I want to also say that I love being part of this group of friends and you're all very special and wonderful! :A
I hope 2014 brings much joy and happiness to you all.
The turkey is starting to smell so good and I'm looking forward to lunch. Must make up the (4 types!) stuffing in a minute. Had a nice morning opening presents and watching the cat with her new toy (kong kickaroo) which she LOVES. Had Despicable Me 2 on Blu Ray, which I really wanted! :T Also a lovely new dress and some very pretty jewellery.
Oh, when I was in Gloucester at the weekend, my Auntie took me to Clearwell Caves and it was brilliant. Would recommend next Christmas if you're nearby. Looked so amazing with all the Christmas trees and fairy lights in the caves. Really magical!
Right, must go for now. Will pop back later. Until then, have fun!
