Halifax or Bank of Scotland ?

I have a reward account with the Halifax, I have Direct Debits on it and have £1k paid in each month so I get the free £5, but I don't get any interest.
I also have a Bank of Scotland Classic Vantage account where I do get interest on the balance.
Which account is best for day to day use, for example paying bills, shopping petrol etc, I know as well that they are the same company but I am in Scotland so no Halifax Branches.
Is it best to keep the savings in the Bank of Scotland and use the Halifax for the day to day stuff and get the £5, or best to use the Bank of Scotland for the day to day stuff and just transfer £1k in and out of the Halifax for the £5 ?.

The best scenario is
- Santander 123 for cashback and interest. Interest on £3K - £20K, cashback on certain DDs, £2/mth charge. £45 cashback from Quidco for opening account
- keep Halifax Reward for monthly fivers
- keep /open Llloyds and/or BoS Vantage for interest, if you can maintain between £3K and £5K balance and have more than th £20K you can stuff into Santander. You are allowed 3 of each accounts, probably more if it's joint accounts.
It doesn't matter where in the UK you live because all these accounts can be operated online and/or on the phone.0 -
A bank is a bank you pay money in and get money out you set up direct debits to leave your account every month just like any other bank, the staff are robots just like any bank you're just an account number like any other bank, they try and sell you products just like any other bank, they have Internet banking just like any other bank, they issue debit cards like any other bank and finally don't save money with banks as you'll get fu*k all in return.0

agree with most you said, Bugsy, apart from the quoted. You actually can get your cash protected (almost...) from inflation by Lloyds/BoS/Santander right now. Don't discard them entirely just yet.0 -
