Hi,

All you need to knock the nails all the way in is a nail punch, which is just a piece of metal about 4" long with a tapered end that you hold against the nail and hit the top of with your hammer.

I presume you are only using panel pin type nails? Anything else may be a bit harsh and poss split the beading. Panel pins are normally sufficient for the job IMO.

The nail punches are only about 50p or so, dependent of course where you buy them from! Wilkos and poss even Poundland will sell them cheap, but of course B&Q, Wickes etc sell them too, but will be a bit dearer.

Back again!

Here is a link to a set of 5 (if I've done it right!), but if you won't be using them regularly then you'll only need the 1. You will see that they come in different head sizes too - you should only need a small one for your job.
